RESTORATIVE JUSTICE

In advance of their upcoming trip to the Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery, Alabama, a group of juniors spent the day learning about restorative justice practices with visitors from Suffolk University. This training was made possible by Dr. Galdston and Dr. Daly, as part of broader district efforts to implement restorative justice in our schools.

FUTURE HEALTHCARE WORKERS OF THE WORLD!

Students in the Intro Medical Assisting class have been studying the anatomy of the Integumentary System (the skin). During this lesson, they learned about the 4 stages of wound healing. Using our moulage kits, they created realistic wounds to show each of the stages in the wound healing process.

ROCK ON!

On a chilly Tuesday night in January, our WHS Modern Music Ensemble, Blues Club and Teacher/Student Band warmed up the WMS Auditorium with rocking tunes and passion. Organized by Mr. Klein, it was the first in a series of concerts that promises to bring the music department into the 21st century. Teachers and students performed together and brought the house down!

MULTILINGUAL FAMILY NIGHT

On Thursday, January 25, 2024, Multilingual Family Night was held in the WMS Library, where we welcomed sixteen families. Several languages were represented, including Spanish, Arabic, Turkish, Pushto, and Haitian Creole. Chris Cochran (literacy coach), Paula Cabral (librarian), Kate Phillipson (ML Coordinator) and Heidi Baildon-Ross (ML coach) facilitated the event. Caregivers learned how to access Google Classroom and PowerSchool and we heard from a panel of three WHS students who shared their experience. They took questions from the audience and told us how they became involved in the Watertown community when they were new students. It was great to see so many families and to have this opportunity to strengthen our family-school partnership!
