CME BLAST

News from Candice
Greetings CME Fam,
It's finally here! We are just a few days away from the well-deserved Thanksgiving break, a chance for everyone to step away from their routines and recharge. Whether you're traveling far or enjoying a relaxing 'staycation,' we hope this time brings you comfort, good food, and great company.
Turkey Drive
On Tuesday, our Student Leadership had a Turkey Drive to collect turkeys for the Denver Rescue Mission. We are so excited to serve our community! There is one last push, so if you would like to still donate a turkey, you can bring it to RE/MAX 12600 E. Arapahoe Rd. on Saturday from 11-2! The classes are in a turkey eat turkey competition to see who can get the most donations. The class with the highest number of gobble gobbles will win a pizza party! We are so grateful for the generosity of our community!
Ms. Kolbo is FAMOUS (well…at least in DCSD)!
We are delighted to announce that our outstanding Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Kolbo, is being highlighted today for her exceptional work in literacy instruction! Our district is currently filming Ms. Kolbo's writing lesson (specifically demonstrating the thinkSRSD writing framework) to create a training video for teachers across the district. This recognition is well-deserved, especially as Ms. Kolbo is also this year's prestigious Apple Award winner. We are incredibly proud of her dedication and leadership!
Professional Learning Communities Survey
Yesterday, you should have received an important survey from the Douglas County School District regarding the addition of dedicated time for teachers to engage in the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process.
The implementation of PLCs has been central to the success our school has achieved over the past four years. As a huge proponent of this collaborative work, I firmly believe that supporting teachers with protected time is essential for us to deepen our practice and achieve even greater outcomes for our students.
Please take a few moments to complete the survey and share your perspective. If you would like to discuss how dedicated PLC time directly benefits our children and teachers, please feel free to reach out to me directly!
With gratitude,
Candice

HALLOWEEN CANDY-
Now that Halloween is over, you may have a bunch of candy left over and you are wondering what to do with it. Well, the staff at Copper Mesa would love it if you donated your extra candy to our school. We always have a bowl of candy in the office for our staff to enjoy throughout the day. And candy has a long shelf life, so it normally takes several months to get through your generosity.
