SGB Week Ahead
November 18-22
SGB THEME for the 2024-2025 School Year
PLEASE READ AND MARK YOUR CALENDARS.
Dear SGB Families,
With the holiday season right around the corner, I'd like to take this time to bring us all together on the same page for our students. We spend a great deal of time at SGB encouraging students to make good choices and for the most part the students at St. Gregory Barbarigo have done a wonderful job.
Recently, there has been an increase in behavior issues when students are not in their classroom setting, such as lunch, recess, bus, etc. Inappropriate language, disrespect to adults, aggressive or disrespectful behavior towards others, etc. have been noticed.
Please continue to remind your child/children that how they behave when they think adults aren't watching is just as important if not more. It is a sign of maturity when a child can make good choices in all scenarios.
Some helpful tips:
1. Encourage your child to be respectful to all and if they are not, please hold them accountable outside of school.
2. Cell phones and screen time should be monitored by parents for students of all ages. Content restrictions and time limits are essential for students ages 10-14. If your child's phone has access to inappropriate content, then it should not be brought to school.
3. Continue to model respect at home.
4. When opportunities arise that are examples of inappropriate language or behavior...point them out and discuss what were some other choices that could have been made.
Thank you so much for being our partners on this journey.
God bless,
Ms. Clarke
