Cycle Days

For the 2026-2027, West Seneca's K-5 schools will be using a cycle schedule rather than a Monday through Friday schedule. The cycle schedule will have days represent by numbers -- Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, and Day 5. This will allow us to keep our daily schedule on track when we have days off. This way students will not miss out on specials like Art, Music, Phys Ed, and Library. Please see the daily cycle schedule here. (If and when we have a snow day, the calendar will adjust for the missed day.)

Be a Better YOU!

For the 2026-2027 school year, West Elementary will be working on targeted practice on some “life” skills in addition to academics. Every week or two, we will practice a skill that will help us all be a little better. This week’s skill is FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS.

Most people are pretty good at FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS but a reminder never hurts. This week we will be practicing.

Parent Portal - Make Sure You Have Access

The West Seneca Central School District PowerSchool Parent Portal can be found at https://powerschool.wscschools.org/public/home.html. You must know your child's PowerSchool Access ID and Password to create an account. This information will be given to you at registration once your child is in our database as registered. If you cannot locate this information, please contact the Main Office at 716-677-3250. To create a new Parent Portal account, please follow the instructions on our Parent Portal Page.

Parent Portal is open with information for K-5 students.

Also, your child's teacher may be using My Power Hub to share important classroom information. This two-way communication system is linked to your Parent Portal account. Make sure you don't miss out by keeping your Parent Portal account up-to-date and active.

Participating in Intramurals

Soon, West Elementary will be hosting some sports intramurals for students. In order to participate, students must have the following on file with Health Office:

A current NYS physical examination form on file (valid within the past 12 months);
Up-to-date health history and emergency contact information;
Requested medical authorizations one file (e.g., asthma action plan, allergy action plan, and any corresponding medications).

Intramurals now fall under athletic activity guidelines and, therefore, every student must be medically cleared by the school nurse prior to participating in intramurals.
