What a wonderful time of year to be a Little Indian! πŸ‚πŸŽƒ As we make our way through October, our classrooms continue to be filled with laughter, creativity, and so many exciting learning experiences!

One thing I've been thinking about lately is how quickly our little ones grow and change. It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming students for the first day of school, and now we're seeing friendships blossom, independence grow, and confidence build. Things that seemed difficult just a few weeks ago are becoming part of their everyday routines. Those little milestones are worth celebrating!

As parents and educators, it's easy to focus on the next big milestone, but I encourage you to celebrate the little victories along the way. Whether it's putting on their own shoes, sharing with a friend, trying something new, or using words to solve a problem, every small step is helping build the foundation for future success.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of these special moments and for continuing to partner with us in your child's learning journey. The days may feel long, but these little years go by so quickly. Let's enjoy every moment we can! πŸ’œπŸ€

πŸŽͺπŸ“š What Are We Learning? πŸŽͺπŸ“š What Are We Learning?

Next week, we'll continue exploring ELLC Unit 5 – Week 2: Pumpkins & Sounds! πŸŽƒ Our Little Indians will build on everything they've learned about pumpkins while continuing to discover the wonderful world of sounds!

Throughout the week, students will have opportunities to compare pumpkins, explore textures, practice counting, make predictions, and use descriptive vocabulary. We'll also continue strengthening listening and early literacy skills by identifying environmental sounds, clapping syllables, experimenting with sounds, and enjoying stories, songs, and rhymes. 🎢

Week 2 is all about building confidence through repetition and exploration! By revisiting familiar activities and trying new challenges, our Little Indians are strengthening important skills while having fun along the way.

🏑 Try it at home! Go on a sound scavenger hunt! Ask your child to close their eyes and listen carefully. Can they hear a bird, a car, footsteps, or the wind? You can also practice clapping the syllables in family members' names or counting pumpkins you see around your neighborhood!

Every little discovery, new sound, and hands-on experience is another Little Step toward a Big Success! πŸ‘£πŸ’œπŸ€

πŸ’œ Parents as Teachers Spotlight: The Power of Play! πŸ§ΈπŸ‘£

Did you know that play is one of the most important ways young children learn? 🎨 Whether building with blocks, playing pretend, or exploring outside, children are developing language, creativity, problem-solving, and social skills!

Try joining in! Let your child lead the play, ask questions, and encourage their imagination. These simple moments help build confidence, strengthen relationships, and support learning.

Our FREE Parents as Teachers (PAT) program provides district families with resources, activities, and support from the prenatal period through kindergarten entry.

Remember, play isn't just funβ€”it's how little minds grow! πŸ’œπŸ‘£
