The Instructional Technology Team is proud to provide self-paced, virtual training opportunities through Canvas. The following courses will be available for the month of February.

• Canvas Assignments: Part I
• Elementary Anchor Stations in Canvas: Part I
• Getting Started with Mimio
• Technology Tools for Formative Assessment: Classkick

Registration is open for these courses in Eduphoria Strive. Directions for enrolling in the appropriate Canvas course can be found in the Course Description in Eduphoria Strive. Participants can begin work in the course on February 1, 2021. To receive credit for the course, all course requirements must be complete by February 28, 2021.

Want to quickly see how your Canvas course looks for students? Canvas has added a new icon for quick access to the Student View. You can find it in the top-right corner of most pages in your Canvas course.

On January 16, the New Rich Content Editor became the only editor available in your Canvas courses.

The location of some features has changed. Access to external tools, such as Studio, is now located under the Apps icon that looks like an electrical plug.

When naming campus assessments in Aware, remember that Conroe ISD requires that the campus name be listed first in the test title. Any assessment that does not follow this naming convention will be deleted during the summer. Once an assessment is deleted, it can not be recovered.

Example Naming Conventions:

• Peet JH 2020-21 Math Algebraic Equations #2
• Conroe High Humanities Modern European Philosophies
• TWHS Reading To Kill a Mockingbird 20-21
• Cryar IS 2020-21 Reading CA #4
• Stockton JH Force & Motion with Magnets

Did you know that you can message students directly from your Canvas Gradebook? You can message students who have not submitted an assignment, have not been graded, or scored above or below a certain score on a assignment.

In your course gradebook:

• Select the options icon to the right of the Assignment title
• Select 'Message Students Who'
• Select the group you want to message
• Type your message and select 'Send Message'
