Marlow Monday Message
October 20th, 2025
Goooooooooood Evening Marlow Families!!!
Happy Monday!!!!
It’s Pumpkin Lighting Week here at Marlow!! The excitement is in the air, and with the crisp fall weather settling in, it’s truly a wonderful time to be at school. First quarter Check-Ins are in the books, Q1 Report Cards are out, and our focus continues to be growing our students academically, socially, and emotionally — every single day.
This is such a special week for our students, families, and school community — full of excitement and energy and one of the best 'fall festivals' in HCPS. A big shout-out to our Marlow PTO for making Pumpkin Lighting a success! Be sure to look at the attached documents below for more information on Wednesday night! We hope to see you all there!
Be sure to read through this week’s updates carefully — there’s a lot happening as we move deeper into October and the second quarter!
New This Week: At the bottom of the MMM, you’ll now find a new section called 'School Community News.' This space will share non-Marlow announcements, events, and opportunities happening around our greater community that may be of interest to families.
Have a fantastic week, everyone — and thank you for all that you do to make Marlow such a special place!
Full of pride and gratitude,
JHart

Happening this Wednesday...Pumpkin Lighting!!
October is.....SOCK-TOBER!!
The Marlow K-Kids (Kiwanis Kids Club) is sponsoring a Sock Drive all this month to benefit the Salvation Army of Hendersonville.
All October, students can bring in NEW pairs of socks (small, large, colorful, plain...it doesn't matter, as long as they are new!) and place them in the bins that will be placed in each hallway.
At the end of the month, the K-Kids will deliver them to the Salvation Army in Hendersonville.
Make a donation and join this great cause for SOCK-TOBER!!!
The Clothes Bin now benefiting our Marlow K-Kids
Did you know that the Clothes Bin in our parking lot collects ld clothes to be recycled? Every item donated not only helps the environment by reducing waste, but now also supports our Marlow K-Kids Club!
Proceeds from the bin will go directly toward student-led service projects and community initiatives.
Clean out those closets and drop off your donations anytime — it’s a simple way to make a difference!

New HCPS Notification Number for Outgoing Messages
Over the course of the first quarter, we’ve been monitoring our communication systems and identified that some families were not receiving phone notifications. Since then, we’ve been working to understand and resolve the issue. While this was not related to our student information system, Infinite Campus, we found that certain phone carriers or devices were flagging our outgoing number as spam.
To ensure future messages reach all families, we now have a new outgoing number—828-435-3480—that has been thoroughly tested and verified to work across all phone carriers. It’s very important to save this number as a contact so you’ll recognize future calls from your child’s school and Henderson County Public Schools.
Depending on your phone or carrier, the call may appear as “HCPS Messenger” or as “Potential Spam.” Please do not block this number—saving it as a contact will help ensure you know it’s from us.
We’re grateful to the families who helped bring this issue to our attention, and we appreciate your partnership as we continue to strengthen communication across our district.
For more details, please visit the HCPS website or check your email.
Thank you for your support and attention to this important update.

Henderson County Public Library - A Great Resource!!!
Did you know your student can borrow books and resources from the Henderson County Public Library with just their student number?
Through the StudentAccess program, HCPS works with the Henderson County Public Library to provide our students with extra support for their ongoing education.
If you want your child to participate this year through StudentAccess, you must opt in to the program by completing the form or filling out a print version provided by your student’s school. Students who do not return this form will not be able to borrow materials or access online information unless they have a traditional Henderson County Public Library card and PIN number.

Geoff Kinsey Memorial Scholarship
We are honored to share that our school community has established the Geoff Kinsey Memorial Scholarship in memory of our beloved teacher and friend, Mr. Kinsey, who passed away back in July. This scholarship will be awarded each year to a 4th Grade student who embodies the same kindness, adventurous spirit, perseverance, and love for learning that Mr. Kinsey modeled every day.
If you would like to support this meaningful tribute, donations can be made by scanning the QR code included in tonights message, or clicking on the link below. Your generosity helps continue Mr. Kinsey’s legacy of inspiring students to live with courage, curiosity, and compassion.
