Explorers Fall 2026

Our Heartland Explorers program is geared especially toward our TK - 5th graders! We meet each Wednesday in-person in September, October, and November. The fourth Wednesday of September and October, we'll meet virtually. We strive to spark curiosity and future aspirations through career-focused, hands-on park days and occasional field trips in your community. We are focusing on hospitality, tourism, and recreation in September, public service in October, and building and construction in November. Students will engage with each other as they learn from our amazing HSTs to explore real-world careers, and discover passions that can shape their futures—all while making learning an exciting adventure.

Explorers is designed especially for your enrolled student and their parent, but we love including additional siblings when we can! Additional siblings are welcome to join us for park days and some field trips. Please note: there may be field trips each month that do not allow siblings to attend. On these trips, we focus on the enrolled Explorer + their chaperone.

All semester regions are closed! Please keep an eye out for Spring Registration which will open in November.

Registration for all month-to-month regions for NOVEMBER opens on Tuesday, October 12th @ 10am and closes Friday, October 16th @ 5pm. Registration is a three-part process:

STEP ONE:

Please select your region below and it will take you right to the link on Ticketbud to register. After claiming your spot on Ticketbud, proceed to next steps:

STEP TWO:

Immediately after registration, place a follow up order in the Procurify catalog for your region using student Instructional Funds or CTT Funds. If your Procurify order is not placed the within 24 hours of your Ticketbud order, your order may be canceled.

STEP THREE:

Please reach out to your HST to let them know you've placed an Explorers order in Procurify and ask them to approve it ASAP so we can finalize your registration.

EXPLORER S'MORE:

As soon as registrations are complete, your region's site lead will email you their specific newsletter holding all locations, dates, and any other information specific to your park days or field trips. We are so excited to explore with you!

• If you're in Bakersfield or Tehachapi, you're in for a flexible monthly sign-up option at just $70/month. Be sure to check your region’s button below for specific sign-up dates!
• In all other regions, Explorers runs on a semester basis for $200 per semester using CTT or IF.

Get ready for engaging projects and interactive lessons led by our amazing HSTs! You’ll explore real-world careers through hands-on learning alongside your friends. Discover how different careers begin, the important role they play in your community, and collaborate on activities that bring these professions to life. As you learn, you’ll start imagining yourself in one of these exciting careers someday. Plus, you’ll take home fun activities and materials to continue the adventure long after class ends. Plus, you’ll get your very own Explorer Passport Journal—packed with fun challenges and creative ways to extend your learning at home. Bring it each week and collect a sticker for every month you complete. Can you fill your passport by the end of the year?

At Explorers, we love that homeschooling allows families to learn and grow together, and your presence plays a big part in making that possible! Parents are expected to stay with their child during the program and actively support their engagement.

When parents are not engaged and demonstrating participation with their children, it can be difficult for everyone to have a focused and meaningful experience. To help create a positive and respectful environment for all, please plan to stay present with your child, guide them in listening carefully, participating fully, and continuing the learning at home!
