Harvest Parties - October 22nd

Fall Harvest Parties will be held from 2:30-3:30 on Friday, October 22nd.

Unfortunately, outside guests will not be allowed to attend Harvest Parties this year. Teachers may be asking for help from parents with snacks, crafts and activities for the Harvest Party. Parents will be allowed to drop snacks or activities off in the morning or during the day if you are unable to send it with your child. Please make sure it is labeled.

Snacks during the party need to be store bought, pre-packaged and preferably healthy. Other items such as pencils, stickers, etc are always welcome. It is acceptable to send home a small treat bag of individually wrapped treats. Please refrain from sending items with icing as this could cause major messes on the bus.

Students will be allowed to dress as their favorite book character, wear a fall shirt or come as themselves. We ask that the costumes are school dress code appropriate and that there are No Mask, No Weapons, No Gore, and No Blood. Students will not be able to change during the day. If they are dressing up, please make sure it is something they can be comfortable in for the entire day and that it is not a distraction to learning.

Homework must be turned in for attendance to count when quarantined

This is a reminder that students must turn in their homework from the time they are quarantined in order to make up their attendance for each day they are absent. If the homework is not completed, they are counted absent for those days. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or our office.

MCE Playground Update

Thank you to everyone that donated or help secure donations for our new playground equipment. It was ordered in July and at the time it was scheduled to arrive by the end of October. However, I have been told our delivery date has been pushed back to December.

When it arrives we will need a team of parents to volunteer some time to help us put it togehter. We have hired a supervisor from the company to guide us through this process. If you are willing to share some time one weekend in the future to help us, please send me an email (jburton@mc-wildcats.org) and I will contact you as plans are made. We hope that we find out it can be delivered soon! Once it arrives at the factory, our maintence department will pick it up and deliver it to school.

Important Information:

Lunch Charges

Please be aware that all 1st lunches are free this year. If your child wants to order a 2nd lunch or an extra milk, they will be charged for these items.

We appreciate you filling out the Free & Reduced Lunch application. While lunches are free at this time, some of our school programs' funding is based on the percentage of students who qualify for free and reduced lunches. Our Title I Reading program is one of these programs. We need you to complete and return this application to help with the funding of these programs. Thank you!

Handbook and Social Media Forms

This is a reminder that the elementary parent/student handbook is found online. You can access it by clicking this link or by visiting our web page, clicking parent information and then choosing Handbook.

We must have your signed permission before we are allowed to include your student's picture in any posts on social media pertaining to MCE. We love to celebrate the learning happening at MCE, and we do this by sharing pictures.

Please return the signed permission form to your child's teacher as soon as possible, if you have not done so.
