Principal's Message
Ride Family,
What a wonderful week at Ride! We have had so many special moments this week, and I continue to be reminded of just how blessed we are to be part of such an amazing school community!
We kicked off the week celebrating Red Ribbon Week, reminding our Challengers of the importance of making healthy, safe, and responsible choices. It was so fun seeing everyone participate in our dress-up days!
On Tuesday, we hosted our very first Ride Around the Neighborhood at the 333 Holly Community Center! What a special afternoon connecting with our families, sharing books, playing games, and enjoying some Halloween fun! I am so grateful for our teachers and staff who came out to spend time with our families. We loved taking Ride beyond our school walls and look forward to visiting more neighborhoods soon!
We also had a week full of wonderful student experiences! Our third graders did an amazing job with their program under the direction of Mrs. Dimas, and our second graders had a fantastic time at Old MacDonald's Farm! We ended the week with one of my favorite Ride traditions, our Storybook Parade! Seeing our Challengers dressed as their favorite book characters and so many families lining the parade route was such a joy!
And what better way to wrap up our parade than with a little SLIME! Our top sellers from our Galaxy of Learning fundraiser had the opportunity to slime their teachers! The smiles and laughter were priceless! A huge thank-you to our incredible PTO for all the time and love they put into making these experiences so special for our students.
We also wrapped up our Socktober Sock Drive! Thank you to everyone who donated socks to help families in need throughout CISD. I love seeing our Ride community come together to care for others. These small acts of kindness truly make a difference!
Can you believe we are already heading into November? Please remember that there will be no school on Monday, November 2, or Tuesday, November 3. We look forward to welcoming our Challengers back on Wednesday, November 4!
As I reflect on this week, I am just so thankful for our students, staff, and families. You continue to show up, support one another, and make Ride such a special place. There truly is no place I would rather be!
Wishing all of our Ride families a wonderful, restful long weekend!
With a grateful heart,
Laura Collins

Special Education Families
What is SEPAC? A SEPAC is a district-wide, parent-driven group (typically consisting of parents, guardians, caregivers, educators, and community members) whose children have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans.
GT Referral Window
Testing Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or campus staff. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher. Referrals will be accepted October 1 - December 19, 2026. You may request a referral form from the front office or your child's teacher or you can download the form below. Please send the completed form to the school addressed to Bree Jones
Permission for Ridgewood Park
Throughout the school year, Ride Elementary students may visit Ridgewood Park for special events, activities, and learning experiences. Please complete this form to give permission for your child to visit, play, and participate in activities at Ridgewood Park with their class and teacher.
Please complete one form for each child who attends Ride Elementary.
Before each planned visit to Ridgewood Park, your child’s classroom teacher will send an email with information about the special event or activity.
Thank you for helping us provide our Challengers with fun and meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom!

Birthday Treats
To help us keep everyone safe and ensure celebrations run smoothly, please remember that any birthday treats brought to school must follow our treat guidelines. Treats should be commercially prepared, nut-free, and clearly labeled with ingredients.
**Please note that we can not accept birthday treats from Shipley’s Donuts, as their corporate office has informed us that their products contain nuts.**
Treats that do not meet these guidelines will not be permitted in the classroom. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us celebrate safely!

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the Volunteer Application. This includes working in the classroom, reading to students, working in the library, etc..
Breakfast & Lunch
Parents are encouraged to prepay for their child’s meals through myschoolbucks.com. Please allow up to 48 hours for payments to be applied to your child’s account.
Breakfast is served daily from 7:30–7:55 a.m. Breakfast costs $2.00, and a regular student lunch is $3.20. À la carte items are also available for purchase at varying prices.
For menus, nutrition information, and additional details, please visit the CISD Child Nutrition website.
If sending cash or a check to school, please place it in a sealed envelope labeled with your child’s name, ID number, and grade level to ensure the payment is applied correctly. Checks should be made payable to CISD Child Nutrition and include the parent’s driver’s license number and date of birth. Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Families interested in applying for free or reduced-price meals may complete an application through myschoolapps.com. Students who do not qualify for the free or reduced-price meal program will need funds in their account or payment at the time of purchase for breakfast and lunch.
Lunch Visitors
We have found that the first few weeks of school are an important time for students to build independence, learn routines, and become comfortable in their new environment. To support this transition, we kindly ask that parents and guardians wait until August 24 before joining their child for lunch.
Due to limited seating in our cafeteria, all lunch visitors will be required to sign up in advance. We will share additional information, including the lunch visitor sign-up process, in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we help our Challengers get off to a great start this school year!
School Hours
School hours are 7:50 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. Students must be in their classroom before the 7:55 a.m. bell rings, or they will be considered tardy. Please note that 7:30 a.m. is the earliest time that your child may be dropped off. We do not have staff available to supervise students until that time.
Tardy Policy - A student is tardy if not in the classroom at 7:50 a.m. If your child is tardy, parents must sign him/her in at the front office. When a student is tardy, an e-mail will be sent to the student’s guardian for notification.
