Husky Hustle

Rain Date: Nov. 10th

Hello Hillendale Families!

We are excited to kick off this year’s Husky Hustle! After receiving such wonderful feedback about last year’s Fun Run format, we are thrilled to bring it back again — this time aligning with the district-wide theme of Gratitude and Hillendale’s school theme, Lift Up. All students will participate at no cost, and parents and guests are welcome to attend to watch and cheer on their Huskies!

👉 Please continue reading all of the details below so that you know how to best prepare your child for the event.

This year’s Husky Hustle theme is: ✨ “Racing to Lift Up Hillendale” ✨

Like last year, the event will be held during the school day on Friday, November 7th (rain date: Nov 10th). Below are some important details to help your child decide how they would like to participate and fundraise for the big event:

• 🏃‍♂️ Fun Run Participation – All students are invited to take part in the Fun Run & students will run/walk for 30 minutes (15 minutes for K-1). Grades 2-5 only will have the option to participate in the 5K. Teachers will be collecting the names of students who wish to participate in the 5K.

• Fun Run - laps around the lower trail only.
• 5K - 4 laps around the full trail.
• 💛 Fundraising – Students will have the opportunity to create fundraising pages through 99Pledges to share with family and friends to sponsor their run/laps. More information on this below.
• 👕 Event T-Shirts – All students and staff will receive a Husky Hustle t-shirt to wear proudly on race day displaying one lucky student's winning design.
• 🍎 Refreshments – snacks and water will be available to students after the run to refuel. Water will be available during the run as well.

• 🎲 Games & Activities – Fun lawn games and activities will be available after the run for students to enjoy.

• 🎉 Prizes – each student that raises $50 will receive a prize. There will also be prizes given for the highest fundraiser in each grade, the poster contest, raffle winners, and the 5K winners in each grade.

Thank you for supporting our students and helping us make this year’s Husky Hustle a success!

If you wish to run with your child, please make sure you sign-up on the volunteer sign-up genius.

🐾 Let’s Race to Lift Up Hillendale!🐾

Kindergarten & 1st Grade: 10:00 - 10:45 AM

2nd & 3rd Grades: 11:00 - 12:00 PM

4th & 5th Grades: 2:00 - 3:00 PM

Hillendale families are encouraged to set up a fundraising page to share with friends and family — it works just like a walk-a-thon or run-a-thon! All funds raised go directly to the Hillendale PTO to support teacher grants, classroom supplies, furniture, playground equipment, and grade-level programs.

✨ Students who raise $50 or more will earn a prize, and the top fundraiser in each grade will win an additional prize!

To create your child’s fundraising page, visit Husky Hustle 99pledges.com and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click “Add a Participant” and complete the information to get started.

✨Share your child's fundraising page with friends and family via email or on social media!

🐾 We need YOU, Husky Families! 🐾

We can’t do it without volunteers. Please consider signing up to help the day of the event—it’s a fun way to be part of the action and support our students!

Together we’ll make this event run smoothly and lift up Hillendale! ❤️💛

Can grandparents, siblings, or other guests attend?

Yes! We welcome family and friends to come cheer on our Huskies.

Can I run with my child?

Yes! Please make sure to sign-up on the volunteer sign-up genius above.

What if my Husky signed up for the 5K but can’t finish?
No problem! We anticipate the 5K (Grades 2 - 5 only) will be a run/walk for many participants. If a student doesn’t finish before time is up, that’s absolutely fine.

Does my Husky have to participate?
We encourage all children to keep their bodies moving for at least 30 minutes (15 minutes for K-1), just like PE class. After finishing, students can enjoy lawn games and refreshments.

Is there a rain date?
Yes — the rain date is Monday, November 10th.

Why is the Husky Hustle different from previous years?
We’ve made changes so all Hillendale students can participate during the school day, without conflicting with weekend family plans.

If I have questions, who do I contact?

Please email your questions to hespto@ucfsd.net.

Thanks to our generous sponsors all Hillendale students & staff will receive a Husky Hustle t-shirt on race day! Sponsors are displayed on the back of the t-shirt. To sponsor or for more info, please email hespto@ucfsd.net.
