PACK Path Challenge

What: Grade level tardy competition

When: April 8th-May 6th

The Goal: The goal is for the grade level to keep their “Wolfie” from falling off the mountain. The more tardies collected, the better the possibility that this could happen.

Summary: Students will be competing in grade levels (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior) for the least amount of collective tardies. This challenge will mimic the Price is Right Cliff Hangers Game. Each grade level will have a “Wolfie” displayed on the Pack Path Challenge Wall. We will run tardy reports at the end of each day to see the amount of collective tardies accumulated for each grade level. We will move each “Wolfie” up the mountain in the increments of tardies collected per day by that grade level.

The Reward: The grade level with the least amount of tardies wins a class party. Freshman in English I, Sophomores in English II, Juniors in US History, and Seniors in Government. Teachers/students can decide between movies and popcorn (made from SPED dept), board games, etc.

What: School-wide tardy competition

When: April 8th-May 6th

The Goal: The SF student body keeps the four week time period tardies under 2,600. We will use the mountain game visual in the back hall to help keep them on track.

Summary: Students work together to keep the school collective tardies under 2,600 for the four week time period. Limited to 650 per grade level. This ties to the grade level competition listed above.

The Reward: If the school-wide tardy numbers stay under 2,600 for the set time period, we will invite dessert food trucks to lunch for students to enjoy after they eat lunch. Students will receive a longer lunch on this date. Target date is May 13th. (PM AP Testers go to first lunch)

Prom

We are excited to partner with the OKC Zoo to host Prom on Saturday, April 26th, from 7:30-10:30pm. We will be using a venue on the OKC Zoo property that hosts numerous weddings and corporate events each year. Looking forward to a wonderful event in a unique space.

Infinite Campus Workflow (coming in August 2025)

We are excited to announce that Infinite Campus Workflow will be utilized next school year which will allow us to implement an electronic hall pass system for students and also an online checkout option for parents. The electronic hall pass system will allow for more flexibility for students to be able to move around campus and take care of restroom needs and office visits. The online checkout system will allow parents to send a request for checking out a student without having to make a phone call and speak to an office staff member. This will be an exciting and positive change for our students.

Advisory Continues this Week

When the Advisory Bell rings at 10:00, students have five minutes to travel to their advisory locations. From 10:05-10:25, students receive assistance in the class where they need help. Students not attending advisory will remain in 2nd Hour from 10:00-10:25. For students who are caught up, this is an excellent time to use their Chromebooks to work on homework or take care of other school-related items. Students may be placed on the advisory list for any subject on any day of the week, but there are priority days for core subjects that take priority over other subjects.

Monday: Math Priority Day

Tuesday: English Priority Day

Wednesday: Science Priority Day

Thursday: Social Studies Priority Day

Friday: Math Priority Day

School IDs required for Bus Riders

Santa Fe HS is participating in a pilot program that will allow EPS to use an ID scanner to ensure that a student makes it on the bus and off the bus each day both before and after school. Students will need to have their School IDs visible and ready to scan each day for this system to work. Please speak to your student about the importance of participating in this pilot program. Throughout the district, parents contact schools from time to time to ask if their student got on the bus or not. This will provide a real-time way to check and ensure that students safely are returned to their bus stops near their homes.
