Dear Parents/Guardians:
The Rhode Island Department of Education is currently administering its annual SurveyWorks Family Survey, which is an opportunity for family members to provide feedback about Newport Public Schools. This is an ideal tool to help us update and create a new strategic and educational plan for our schools.
The more information you provide us the better informed decisions we can make. This is a team effort - so please help us by filling out the survey. Responses are anonymous, and your feedback is incredibly valuable to our school leadership teams.

Ages 14+15 PAID Summer Boat Building (APPLY NOW)

Student must:
- be 14 or 15 by the program start of July 10, 2023
- attend daily for all 5 weeks
- have transportation

Programa de construcción de canoas para jóvenes
Los estudiantes de 14 y 15 años están invitados a participar en este programa práctico en el que trabajarán en equipos en el transcurso de 5 semanas para construir dos canoas con tablones de madera de cedro y asientos tejidos. Los estudiantes aprenderán habilidades de preparación para el lugar de trabajo para la industria marina, incluida la seguridad en el taller, planificación de proyectos, habilidades de liderazgo, trabajo en equipo, operación básica de herramientas manuales, redacción de currículums y la importancia de llegar a tiempo a un lugar de trabajo. Los participantes botarán y remarán sus canoas en el puerto de Newport al finalizar el programa.

Many of the scholarships listed are online scholarships. The general rule is if the scholarship listed has a link that means the application is online. If the scholarship on the list does not have an online link then the paper application is in Guidance in the filing cabinet under the "Scholarship" sign! (To the right of Ms. Gorman's desk)
For every scholarship you apply for you will need to fill out a Blue Transcript Request form. Those forms are available in Guidance on the table in front of Ms. Gorman's desk. If you are not able to come to Guidance you can email Ms. Gorman @ joanngorman@npsri.net and she will forward you an electronic fillable form.
