CBK Students Volunteer at Glenside STEM Day
A group of Cedarbrook eighth graders demonstrated leadership and service while volunteering at Glenside's recent STEM Day! Under the guidance of STEM teacher Mr. Omar Rose, students gave up their free time after school to prepare a lesson and materials for the workshop. At the event, they led Glenside students through the process of designing and building parachutes that were dropped from the ladder. The challenge? Create a parachute that stays in the air the longest! It was a full day of creativity, teamwork, STEM learning and smiles. We appreciate our current WIldcats for giving back and inspiring future Wildcats.

Educational Affairs - March 2026
With co-chair Mia Blitstein presiding, the Educational Affairs Committee convened in person and via Zoom for its monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 17. The agenda contained one item: supports offered by the CSD Office of Student Services. Director of Student Services Jessica Keene opened the meeting by reviewing the programs (Cradles to Crayons, Glenside Rotary, Grace Presbyterian, Keneseth Israel) with which the district’s social workers work on behalf of students and families. Ms. Keene continued, speaking on the district’s support for homeless students, students in foster care, and how her office works with charter schools. Ms. Keene also reviewed the supports available on the building level, including Aldersgate and Lakeside counselors; and mentor groups like Make the Distinction, Girls Circle, and Families and Communities on the Move. Ms. Keene reviewed professional development offered to school counselors in the areas of IEP goal creation, college and career readiness standards, and trauma training. Ms. Keene wrapped up the presentation by going over LinkIt data related to elementary and secondary Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), a school-wide framework using data to provide tiered, increasing levels of academic and behavioral support for all students. The next Educational Affairs meeting is Tuesday, April 21 at 7 p.m. Slide deck>
