90% Attendance Rule For Credit/Final Grades

What Does The 90% Rule Mean For Your Child?

• In addition to Texas compulsory attendance laws, districts are required to enforce the 90% rule which states that students in grades Kindergarten through 12th must attend a class for 90% of the time it is offered to receive credit or a final grade. This rule applies even if your child has an IEP or 504 Plan.

• August is National Immunization Awareness Month, National Back-to-School Month, Family Fun Month and National Wellness Month.
• August 10: Meet the Teacher Night 4:00 PM -6:00 PM
• August 12: First Day of School
• August 14: Summer Reading Logs are due!
• August 18: Board Meeting at Channelview Administration Building 6:00 PM
• August 24-28: Safety Week
• August 25: Junior Drill Team Practice (Must Register) at CHS Main Gym
• August 27: Junior Drill Team Practice (Must Register) at CHS Main Gym
• August 28: Spirit Football Game and Junior Drill Team Performance at Ray Maddry Memorial Stadium
