Sense of Belonging Survey, 4th and 5th grade students only
Linked here, please find a preview copy of the student GCPS Sense of Belonging and Inclusion Survey that will be administered to students during school the week of April 6, 2026. The purpose of the survey is to collect the students' input on how our school is doing in creating a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment for all students and to get their feedback on how we can improve. Any parent wishing to opt their child out of taking this survey may do so by contacting our survey coordinator, Sarah Burnham, sburnham@glnd.k12.va.us

Witness Tree Challenge
Can you find a tree that's been alive since 1776? The Witness Tree Challenge invites our community to discover trees in Goochland County that have stood for 250 years—silent witnesses to the American Revolution! Find, document, and help us celebrate these living pieces of history.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: April 1, 2026. Learn more by clicking here
PIN Pad in the Cafeteria
Students will begin using their Student ID number in the cafeteria when going through the line to purchase breakfast and lunch in the upcoming weeks. Please help your student(s) learn this number at home - paper copies of the pin pad will be coming home to support this initiative.
Attendance Updates
Every day of school counts!
Research from Attendance Matters shows that students who miss just 2 days a month (excused or unexcused) can quickly fall behind academically. Consistent attendance helps children build strong routines, stay connected to their teachers and peers, and feel confident in their learning.
As we approach spring break please help us keep your child on track by scheduling trips, appointments, and travel outside of the school day when possible. Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s success!
Stronger Together: GCPS Wellness Night Fun Run/Walk!
We are excited to invite you to join us for the upcoming GCPS Wellness Night – Stronger Together Fun Run/Walk! This fun-filled evening will take place on Wednesday, April 8th from 5:00–7:00 PM (gates open at 5:00 PM, run/walk begins at 5:30 PM) at the Goochland High School Football Stadium.
This event is designed to promote health and wellness among our students, families, and staff across Goochland County Public Schools. There will be delicious food trucks, games, bouncy houses, door prizes, and an opportunity to participate in a fun run/walk featuring colorful chalk along the course.
Whether you’re ready to run, walk, play, or simply connect with others in our community, there will be something for everyone.
We’re looking forward to seeing our GCPS community and continuing the work we do together.
RES Creative Connections
Join us for a special evening where imagination takes center stage! On April 23rd, the RES Creative Connections family event will bring art to life, celebrating the powerful connection between creativity, color, and classrooms! Families will experience an inspiring showcase of voices in harmony, highlighting the hard work, expression, and artistry of our young performers.
