A Great EdTech Summit to Celebrate!
TIPS hosted their very first in-person EdTech Summit since the pandemic. Thank you to everyone who joined us for our in-person EdTech Summit on November 1st for a day of professional development focused on technology integration. It was a great time and wonderful to see everyone learning together, having conversations, and more!
If you are interested in accessing the resources from the EdTech summit, check out the PD agenda, which will have links to the presentations and resources.
Tech Spotlight: Showcasing Leaders and Innovation
Every month, we will be featuring a person, school, or event to showcase inspiration, innovation, and/or leadership in the technology space.
Karen Jones is a junior high teacher at Shauna May Seneca School, where she leads the Makerspace classroom. With extensive experience in technology, Karen integrates coding, robotics, and design into her teaching. For the past three years, she has incorporated Minecraft Education into her lessons, seeing firsthand how it engages students and enriches their learning by simulating experiences across the curriculum. Minecraft is an incredible educational tool that promotes creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration, allowing students to build, experiment, and think critically in a virtual space that mirrors real-world challenges. A proud moment was when her junior high Minecraft team won the first EPSB Minecraft Education Build Challenge, and they are excited to compete again.

New Web Progress Module information from the Technical Training Team
The Progress Module has been updated from the old Java version to the new web version. You will find it in PowerTeacher using your Chrome browser. The new Web Progress Module has almost all the same functionality as the old one except Java is no longer required. This update to the Web Progress Module maintains existing Teacher and School Comment Banks.
Resources for using the new web module can be found on the Adding Progress Report Comments page on Connect.
Tips for Working with the Web Progress Module
Here are some tips for working successfully the web progress module:
