Glenwood
This Week's Scouting Report
Thursday October 30, 2025
We look forward to seeing many families tomorrow at our annual Halloween Parade! Please remember - if you plan to take your student home with you after the parade, we ask you to complete the Dismissal Form by 8 am tomorrow morning. If you have a last minute change and would like to take your child home with you following the parade but did not submit the form, please come to the main entrance.
We appreciate your cooperation following our guidelines, please understand our school has grown significantly and we are making every effort to continue the activities we have held in the past. However, as always we need to make safety our top priority. We believe the procedures we have in place will allow us to manage dismissal in the safest and most timely manner possible. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Christa Consadene cconsadene@rtmsd.org.
Academic Challenge and School Culture Surveys
Dear Parent/Guardian:
We are conducting surveys of all students in third through twelfth grade in order to gain a better understanding of the students' thoughts and feelings about their school. There are two surveys that seek to find information focusing on Academic Challenge and School Culture. For each student there is one survey that is specific to their level (Elementary/Middle/High) and a second survey that is applicable to all students. While we will collect basic demographic information from students as part of the survey, we will not be able to link survey results to individual students. Therefore survey respondents will remain completely anonymous. Students will take the surveys in school on Monday November 3rd. This information is for our internal use as we develop our district's strategic plan and work on continuous improvement in both academics and school culture.
We are committed to maintaining and enhancing an affirming and supportive learning environment for all members of the Rose Tree Media School District. The information collected from the students will be helpful in this endeavor. However, if you would prefer your child not to participate in this survey please let Mrs. Consadene at cconsadene@rtmsd.org.
As well, there are three brief family surveys to take. As parents/guardians you are an integral part of the Rose Tree Media School District community. Therefore we would appreciate your participation in the following surveys. At the bottom of your survey links, you will see the student survey links for your preview.
1. Fall 2025 Parent/Guardian Survey: Engagement & School Climate
2. Fall 2025 Parent/Guardian Survey: Cell Phone Use in School
3. Fall 2025 Parent/Guardian Survey: School Calendar
Thank you for all of your time and support.
Please use these links to find copies of the student survey for your preview.

Little Library
Last year, our Reading Specialist Mrs. Julie Plater was recognized for Excellence in Teaching by FMFCU. Part of the honor included a grant to be used for their school. Mrs. Plater recommended we use it to install a "Little Free Library"! It can be found near the main entrance to Glenwood... the idea is to take a book and enjoy it -then return it to it's original location, another location, or replace it. What a great way to share the love of reading!!!

This event is adults-only, since it will be during instruction we cannot allow siblings or younger children. This is also intended for Parents/Guardians... our Grandparents/Special Friends Day will be held in the Spring. All visitors will be asked to sign in upon arrival, you do NOT need to have Clearances on file to attend. Due to space limitations, we ask only two guests per student.

Obstacle Course in Gym
This is one of the most anticipated weeks in Physical Education class, as Mr. Leahan and Mrs. Lieberman create an Obstacle Course for our students! The various challenges allow students to practice their agility or flexibility, but mostly their willingness to try their hardest, never give up, and learn the value of teamwork as they encourage each other to persevere!
Big and Little Buddies
Our classes all partner with another grade throughout the year. They work on projects, read together, and the older students help out their younger "buddies". Above is Mrs. Bradley's Kindergarten class and Mrs. Steffan's 5th grade Partnership. Below is Mrs. Megahey's 1st grade with Mrs. Mazzella's 4th grade class. (The 4th graders are performing "Reader's Theater" for their buddies.)
1st Grade Pumpkin Experiment
Mrs. Constable and Mrs Megahey’s 1st grade classes made predictions about which objects would float or sink.
They were all shocked to observe the big pumpkin floated!!!

We offer food store gift cards and boxed items for Thanksgiving. For our Winter Holidays, we can support families in organizing holiday gifts for their children.
