Two Mile TidbitsOctober 3rd

Principal's Update: Principal's Update:

  • If you ordered shirts online from our PTA spirit store, your child has it in his/her backpack today!

  • Friendly reminder that we have an early dismissal on Thursday the 9th at 12:10pm. There is no school on Friday the 10th.

  • FYI: Due to district-required meetings and other obligations, I will be out of the building a few days throughout October and November. During my absence, Ms. Rawlings will serve as the substitute principal. Many of you may already know Ms. Rawlings from her role as our summer school principal. It’s important to me that our families and students know that Ms. Rawlings will be available to assist with any matters typically brought to my attention.

PE

  1. Pumpkin Fun Run is THIS Sunday, October 5th! Come join us!

  2. Grade Level Skills

    1. Kindergarten, 1st, & 2nd Grades will be learning and reviewing throwing/catching skills. This includes: rolling a ball, underhand & overhand throwing, aiming for a designated target, and how to catch an object. We will focus our practice with small groups situations but will also practice with some game applications. We will be learning how to "persevere when things are difficult" and how to "uplift others" throughout various activities.

    2. 3rd, 4th, & 5th Grades will be reviewing throwing/catching skills. This includes: rolling a ball, underhand & overhand throwing, aiming for a designated target, and how to catch an object. We will practice with small groups situations but will work towards applying our practice in game applications. This allows students to gradually go from focusing on the break down of the skill, to working towards using the skill in a multi-faceted activity. We will be learning the concepts of offense/defense along with how we interact with others in a safe, respectful manner to participants (classmates) and the spirit of the game(s) (sportsmanship/social emotional learning).

    3. Your student(s) are expected to wear tennis shoes on days when they have PE. This is a tool that helps to ensure your student's safety when doing movements of all kinds. As students transition into middle school in the future years, tennis shoes are a requirement. Help me prepare them for class and for their future by having appropriate footwear for activity. Thanks!

Media

Kindergarten and first grade have been using Draw and Tell to create and tell a story. Second through fifth have been exploring in google docs and learning to change text while creating documents.

Music

Hello Two Mile 4th and 5th grade Families!

It has been brought to my attention that the QR code for choir is not working properly, so I wanted to give you all the link for registration instead. If your 4th or 5th grader is interested in joining our Two Mile Choir please fill out this registration form to get them in. If you could fill it out before the end of the day on Monday October 6th that would be great so I have permission to keep them after school for our first rehearsal.
