Good Evening Mustang Families,
This week will be a full five-day week for students, and we are looking forward to a productive and engaging week ahead at McCullough. As we continue to build momentum this spring, we appreciate your ongoing partnership in supporting student success both in and out of the classroom. A special reminder that tomorrow is McCullough Monday—we encourage all students and staff to wear their McCullough gear or school colors to proudly show their Mustang spirit. Please take a few moments to review this week’s update for important reminders, upcoming events, and highlights from around the building.

Scholastic Book Fair Opens this Week
The Scholastic Book Fair will open at McCullough this week on Wednesday, March 26th! Prior to opening, students will have the opportunity to preview the Book Fair and explore the available selections. We look forward to an exciting week of promoting reading and helping students find books they’ll love!
MCC Celebrates Rock Your Socks Day
Since World Down Syndrome Day (Rock Your Socks Day) on March 21st fell over the weekend, McCullough will observe the day on Monday, March 23rd. We encourage all students and staff to wear fun, colorful, or mismatched socks to celebrate inclusion, spread awareness, and show support for individuals with Down syndrome. Student Council has been selling socks for $2 each, and if your student would like to purchase a pair, they will be available until they sell out. Let’s come together as a school community to make a statement and “rock our socks!”
Start of 4th Marking Period
Tomorrow marks the beginning of the 4th and final marking period of the school year. As we enter this important final stretch, families are encouraged to review their child’s academic progress in Infinite Campus, speak with their student about staying organized and keeping up with assignments, and reach out to teachers with any questions or concerns. Maintaining open communication and consistent support will help ensure students finish the year strong.
ParentCamp at McCullough on March 24th
We are excited to invite McCullough families and community members to ParentCamp on Tuesday, March 24 from 5:30–7:30 PM (doors open at 5:15 PM) at McCullough Middle School. ParentCamp is a special evening where families, educators, and community partners come together for meaningful conversations about topics such as healthy peer relationships, transitioning to high school, and growing up in a digital world. Families will enjoy a free meal, students can participate in Kids Club activities, and all attendees will be entered to win a Delaware State Parks Pass. Please review the flyer below and use the button to RSVP. We hope to see you there!
Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences
As a reminder, spring conferences will take place on Wednesday, April 1st and Thursday, April 2nd, and this will be the final week to sign up. Conference letters were sent home with students earlier this month. Families are encouraged to review the details in the grade-level sections below and sign up for a conference time that works best for their schedule. We look forward to connecting with you to discuss your child’s progress and growth!
Parent Chaperones Needed
Our grade levels have begun sharing information about end-of-year trips in their grade-level newsletters. These experiences are a meaningful way to celebrate a successful school year, and we hope families will consider supporting as chaperones. If you are available and interested in chaperoning, please be sure to complete the volunteer clearance form using the provided link and reach out to your grade-level administrator for more information.
Reminder – Cellphone and Electronic Device Policy
We will be continuing with hallway sweeps for cellphones and electronic devices. Please remind your students of MCC’s cellphone policy: all phones and accessories should be stored away and not visible throughout the entire school day. Thank you for helping us maintain a focused and distraction-free learning environment.
