Greetings HESD Families,
As we wrap up our first full week of school I want to thank our staff, students, and families for helping us begin the year on such a positive note. The heat and humidity have certainly added another challenge this week, and we appreciate your patience and partnership as our schools work to keep students safe, comfortable, and engaged.
This week, I had the opportunity to visit classrooms at Bard, Hollywood Beach, Blackstock, Green, and Hathaway. It was wonderful to see students settling into their classrooms and routines and to experience the welcoming and engaging learning environments our staff have created. I saw students exploring our new math materials, building classroom communities, and bringing learning to life in so many ways. I look forward to visiting classrooms at our other schools over the next two weeks.
As you read this edition of the Hueneme Channel, I hope you enjoy learning more about what is happening across our district. Thank you to our entire HESD community for your partnership and for helping us launch another successful school year!
Join Us for Back to School Night
As we kick off another exciting year, we invite you to join us for our upcoming Back to School Night events across the district. Back to School Night is a great opportunity to step into your student’s classroom, meet their teachers, and discover what's in store for the year ahead.
Strong partnerships between home and school are the foundation of student success. Keep an eye out for communication from your child's principal with further details for your school's event.
We look forward to seeing you there!
