FMS October 2024 Monthly Newsletter
RISE TO THE CHALLENGE! 🎃
I am immensely proud of the diligent efforts demonstrated by our students and staff this academic year. There has been a notable increase in attendance, while instances of disciplinary issues have decreased.
Students are actively participating in classes, and teachers are delivering rigorous instruction. Our school campus and grounds have never been in better condition. As parents and guardians, your role in this success cannot be overstated.
Historically, the month of October poses challenges for students. The novelty of the school year has worn off, and students have grown accustomed to the campus and their classes. While it is gratifying that they feel more at ease, this comfort can sometimes lead to a decline in focus on their studies. Our teachers are addressing this issue by incorporating engaging activities and diverse teaching methods.
We kindly request your assistance in this matter. Please maintain an active interest in your children's academic progress. Inquire about their current projects and encourage them to seek help from their teachers when necessary, rather than waiting for intervention. Remind them of the importance of maintaining an active concern for their learning, as you and our staff are. These students are achieving remarkable feats, and I am eager to witness their future accomplishments each day.
Thank you,
Mr. Reily

What does it mean to Self-Direct?
Self-Direction is the ability and learned skill to cast a vision of future goals and then take intentional steps toward who, where, and what we want to be. Instead of focusing on things to control or avoid, we emphasize our responsibility to make positive choices related to our emotions, attitudes, and actions.
Why focus on Self-Direction?
- Self-Direction strengthens relationships. Self-Direction helps to grow social skills and develop meaningful, positive relationships with others.
- Self-Direction teaches personal responsibility. Learning to Self-Direct teaches students to take responsibility for their own actions.
- Self-Direction helps us to regulate emotions: Self-Direction empowers students to regulate their impulses and emotional responses to situations and circumstances in their life.

Floresville ISD Community Survey
Floresville Independent School District is conducting a community survey to ask for your opinions about our schools and to gather ideas for making the district even better. As the district prepares for its future, it is important to understand your needs and opinions. This will only take a few minutes of your time.
All responses are valuable to the district.
