• Happy Halloween! I hope our students had a very fun day at Munhall with their classmates and teachers.
• Thank you to all of our volunteers! You help make Munhall an extra fun place on Halloween.
• This week at Munhall our staff took time to practice and review expectations for our arrival and dismissal. I also continued to notice classrooms working together in the hallway and maintaining a voice level of 0 or 1.
• Maddie's Mittens is coming back to Munhall at night on Tuesday, November 11. We had a great turnout last year. If you are unfamiliar with this, it is an opportunity for any families across 303 to come to Munhall for winter gear.
• Veterans day is coming up! On Tuesday, November 11 we will: wear red, white and blue, offer students the option to share names or photos of family who have served or are serving in the military and we will also sing the Star Spangled Banner as an entire school.

• ¡Feliz Halloween! Espero que nuestros estudiantes hayan tenido un día muy divertido en Munhall junto a sus compañeros y maestros.
• ¡Gracias a todos nuestros voluntarios! Ustedes ayudan a que Munhall sea un lugar especialmente divertido en Halloween.
• Esta semana en Munhall, nuestro personal dedicó tiempo a practicar y repasar las expectativas para la llegada y la salida. También seguí notando que las clases trabajaban juntas en los pasillos y mantenían un nivel de voz de 0 o 1.
• ¡Maddie’s Mittens regresa a Munhall la noche del martes 11 de noviembre! El año pasado tuvimos una gran participación. Si no estás familiarizado con esta actividad, es una oportunidad para que cualquier familia del Distrito 303 venga a Munhall a recibir ropa de invierno.
• ¡Se acerca el Día de los Veteranos! El martes 11 de noviembre: usaremos los colores rojo, blanco y azul, ofreceremos a los estudiantes la opción de compartir nombres o fotos de familiares que hayan servido o estén sirviendo en las fuerzas armadas, y también cantaremos The Star-Spangled Banner como toda una escuela.

D303 is supporting the St. Charles Public Library with their Community Cabinet Food Drive

The holidays are fast approaching. Munhall is sponsoring a Big Hearts box. We are now

accepting unwrapped toys of many themes and categories. If your family is in the

position to donate, please have your student bring it to the Main Office and put it in the

“Dance Party” box. Push the button and have yourself a 10 second dance party for

donating! Grown-ups…make sure you vote for Munhall as your favorite decorated box

on Facebook November 8 th and 9 th . Lets bring the W back home!

We have extended the deadline for community members, staff, parents/guardians, and high school students to apply to serve on the D303 Communitywide Education Facilities Committee. The new deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, November 7.

Hello Munhall Families!

In art class, our students upload a photo of their work onto Artsonia, the world’s largest online student art museum. It's a free, safe, educational program designed to connect parents and families with their child's creative activities at school. Many of you are familiar with Artsonia because we have used it in the past.

Founded over 15 years ago, Artsonia has been recognized with the national distinguished service award for outstanding contribution to the arts by the National Art Education Association, as well as the distinguished service award by the state art associations in New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan and Colorado.

Families in Kindergarten and those new to Munhall, please check your students' backpacks in the next week or so for a slip of paper, which contains the information you will need to activate and access their Artsonia account.

D303 is hosting a parent-empowerment series featuring Dr. Megan Schmitz of Vital Living Wellness Solutions. The series, titled “Guiding Students from Avoidance to Achievement,” includes three evening events at North High School and is part of D303’s student-attendance initiative.

Parent Education & Empowerment Series: Guiding Students from Avoidance to Achievement

Join us for an engaging and practical three-part series designed to help parents navigate the growing challenges of anxiety and school avoidance. Led by Dr. Megan Schmitz of Vital Living Wellness Solutions, these sessions will give parents tools to:

• Recognize anxiety in their child and understand its impact on learning and growth.

• Learn strategies to balance empathy and compassion with boundaries and expectations.

• Gain concrete tools to support positive school attendance and resilience.

Where: St. Charles North High School Auditorium
Time: 6:00–8:00 p.m.

This series is designed to strengthen the partnership between families and schools, offering tools and strategies that foster belonging, perseverance, and achievement. Together, we can create the support and consistency children need to thrive. Please note: An interpreter/translator will be available for families who need language support.
