Rising from the Prairie

May 14, 2026
Dear PPA Community,
As we begin rounding out the school year, we want to remind all families and scholars that the final weeks are extremely important. Seniors are currently working to complete all graduation requirements, and there will be hard-set deadlines for all assignments, credit recovery, and graduation-related expectations.
All other scholars will also have firm deadlines for missing work, assessments, and end-of-year requirements as we close out the academic year strongly. We encourage families to continue checking in with scholars regularly to ensure they remain on track academically and attend school consistently.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to finish the year successfully.
Principal Barrett

đ Attention Seniors & Families
IMPORTANT MESSAGE to Caregivers of Graduating Seniors
As we approach graduation, we want to ensure that all seniors and families are aware of the key deadlines and expectations regarding graduation eligibility and participation in the ceremony.
Seniors who complete all graduation requirements by June 4th will have their names included in the graduation program.
If students complete their required work between June 5th and June 10th, they may still participate in the graduation ceremony; however, their names will not appear in the graduation program, as it becomes very difficult to make last-minute adjustments after programs have been finalized.
All coursework, dissertation requirements, Life Mapping activities, and mandatory graduation requirements must be completed by June 10th in order for scholars to participate in graduation.
We strongly encourage families to continue monitoring student progress and communicate with staff if support is needed to ensure all requirements are completed on time. This information will also be communicated directly to your students if it has not already been shared.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2026.
Caregivers: We need your support. As we all know, it takes a village to ensure our scholars are successful. Please encourage your senior to meet with their advisor, review their graduation plan, and stay focused during this final stretch.
Letâs finish strong together.
Goal Setting for field trip to WI Dells
About a month ago, we rolled out a schoolwide incentive goal for all students: the opportunity to attend a trip to Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells. For students to attend, they must meet both attendance and academic goals.
Many of our scholars have been working extremely hard to meet these expectations, and we need your continued support to help push them forward so they have the opportunity to participate in this exciting experience.
The trip is tentatively planned for either the last week of May or the first week of June. We are currently finalizing transportation details and will provide families with another update next week.
Thank you for your continued partnership and encouragement as we work together to support student success and celebrate positive achievement.
ACT Information
ACT discovered an issue affecting some students who took the ACT with writing online during spring school-day testing, so revised scores will be reissued. Current scores will be removed from MyACT on May 13 and updated scores will be available by June 2. Importantly, studentsâ scores will either stay the same or increase slightly; scores will not go down. Students do not need to take any action, and any colleges or scholarship organizations that previously received scores will automatically receive updated scores as well.
Complete message from ACT-
We are reaching out to you on an issue affecting some of your students who took the ACT with writing during the spring administration of the exam.
As part of our continual evaluation of scores, we have discovered a need to reissue scores for students who took the online test this spring during school-day testing. This need relates to an update to the process used to ensure all test scores are fair and accurate, regardless of when and how a student tested. We will be communicating again with you when your students' revised scores are uploaded to Success.
As a next step, we recommend you communicate the following to your students:
Based on its continual evaluation of scores, ACT has informed us that it needs to reissue scores for students who took the ACT online during the school day this spring. If you are among those students, your current score will be removed from your MyACT account on Wednesday, May 13. When scores are available again (no later than June 2), your Composite score and section scores will remain the same OR go up slightly based on your individual performance. Your scores will NOT be lower than what was previously released. There is no action you need to take. ACT will post revised scores on MyACT and will be resending scores to your school. If you previously opted to send scores via ACT to a college, university, or scholarship-awarding organization, they, too, will be sent any updated scores.
We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion. If you have any questions, choose the appropriate connection listed below.
Sincerely,
Catherine Hofmann

Fun Opportunity!!
We are excited to share that our school was awarded a Sun Prairie Education Foundation grant that will directly support our scholars through an HBCU field trip.
This opportunity is designed to expose students to Historically Black Colleges and Universities while connecting learning to future vision, leadership, college readiness, and personal goals. We are grateful for this support and excited to provide our scholars with meaningful experiences that inspire achievement and expand their future opportunities.

Important Summer School Information
As we begin preparing for the end of the school year, we want families to be aware that summer school opportunities will be available for students who need an opportunity to recover credits and stay on track for graduation.
Families of selected scholars will receive direct communication indicating that their student has been identified to attend summer school. Attendance and participation will be important to ensure students remain on track and are successful during their senior year and beyond.
Please stay tuned for additional communication regarding summer school expectations, schedules, and next steps. If you have any questions or need additional information, please reach out to our school directly.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Reaching Out for Resources - In light of the potential of some federal benefits pausing soon, I would like to remind our families that they are always welcome to reach out to discuss resources they may need. As our social worker, my job is to help address barriers to education, including economic, social, and cultural hardships that many of us are feeling. Please donât hesitate to contact me at (608) 501-1506 or ehdonal@sunprairieschools.org.
At PPA, we have a pantry with household grocery options, including fridge/freezer selections! Families are welcome to access the pantry.
We also have a clothing closet that is OVERFLOWING! Come shop for clothing for the warmer seasons. Please reach out to me to shop.

Spring Family Engagement Survey
Hello SPASD families,
The Family Engagement Survey for the 2025-26 school year has launched, and we encourage all our parents and caregivers to take a few minutes to complete it.
Your participation matters because the information you provide in the survey helps us determine what we need to focus on at the District and school level. We want to hear from you, and your voice matters! The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete and is confidential. Your responses will be collected and not attributed to you individually in any reports or analyses. Your candid thoughts help us build a District where every student, staff member, and family can thrive.
The survey is administered by NextPath. How do you access it? Please follow these steps:
On any device (phone, computer, or tablet), open your internet browser, type in nextpath.app, and press enter.
Parents and caregivers can log in securely and easily by selecting your Gmail or Microsoft Outlook account shared with the District or by entering another email address to receive a one-time "magic link." No username or password is needed.
Once signed in, click "Next" to start confirming your child(ren)âs details.
Enter your childâs details (birthday, first letter of their first name, and last name). Click "Finish" when done.
When the information matches school records, you'll see a message confirming your child is linked to your account. Important! If you have more than one child, repeat this step for each child.
Once the process is complete, youâll see any important documents or updates. If nothing needs attention, youâll be taken to NextPath to explore more information about your child.
The survey closes on May 22. The survey is administered by NextPath. Experiencing account access issues with the NextPath survey? Contact Robin Gardner at rrgardn@sunprairieschools.org.
Again, your voice truly matters. Thank you for helping us become better together.

Chromebooks
Scholars should be prepared to learn everyday! Chromebooks should be with students daily. To reduce students transporting their wonderful Chromebooks they have the opportunity to leave the CBâs at PPA to be charged. Those that turned in Chromebooks will be able to pick them up from the main office. We will not issue a Chromebook to students if they have one or more already checked out to them. Please have your scholar return any damaged Chromebooks to the main office. We have a limited number of Chromebooks that students may use as loaners but that is on a first come basis.
Busing Information
Preliminary transportation information is viewable in Infinite Campus by logging into Campus Parent, clicking on âMoreâ, then choosing the Transportation tab. If the bus stop does not look accurate, please contact Kobussen. Pickup and drop-off times are continually changing as new students enroll and other students move out of the district.
This year, High School students will NOT receive bus tags. Students will need to be able to show their bus assignment through Infinite Campus when asked. Once the bus information is available, take a picture of it and add it to your favorites for easy access.
Please contact Brinda Thompson at brinda.thompson@kobussen.com or (608) 825-8700 ext. 5509 if you have questions or concerns about your childâs bus route or stop. If you have any other questions related to busing, please contact either Lisa Sprindis at lasprin@sunprairieschools.org or Rhonda Page at rspage@sunprairieschools.org. If your child is NOT going to ride the bus but is eligible, please stop by the bus table at Registration or reach out to one of the people above.
