AMCMS Principal'sOfficeWhat is going on in the Principal's Office?

My Challenge to You My Challenge to You

They are two words that non of us hear enough.

Thank you.

The words themselves are plain and simple, but when you hear them, you cannot help but feel like someone noticed the time, effort, sacrifice, stress, excitement, passion, and thought that went in to your work.

None of us became educators for the money. We became educators to help others succeed. The work we do is not always easy and it takes a lot of our time and energy. Most of us are not looking for notice and recognition because we know that it does not always come with the work we do, but that does not mean we do not deserve to hear it.

I know that each of you have a passion to help your students succeed. I know that each of you put in countless hours into your craft. I know that each of you set out to make a difference when you became educators. Believe me, you are making a difference. Even if you do not hear it from those you impact until years later, you make a difference to them.

For all of those students you have impacted over the years, I say thank you. Thank you for pushing them to be their very best. Thank you for sacrificing your personal time to prepare for the short time you are with them each day. Thank you for working in a profession that is often undervalued and over simplified in today's world. You are a difference maker.

Thank you.

Think. Achieve. Succeed.

Jeff

AMCMS SPED Tip of the Week

We are in the home stretch for this year!!! We can feel it, and so can our students, which is frequently demonstrated through students’ behavior.

The misbehavior that we may be seeing from some students could be occurring for numerous reasons. Consider: some students are super excited to not be at school anymore, but some students are terrified to not have the structure of school.

Our students are probably not able to express why they are acting how they act, and, yes, they may be showing their feelings in inconvenient ways, but this is the time of year when compassion, empathy, and a daily clean slate are extremely important.

So continue to build relationships. Continue to give a clean slate each day. Continue to show your students that they matter. Our kids deserve it.
