ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT - Week of May 4, 2025
HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS
GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL
On Wednesday the girls flag football team continued regaining their early season groove. They won 38-12 against a scrappy Hammonton team. The girls were lead by senior Journey Green who was also recently selected for the 2nd annual North vs South Girls Flag Football All-Star game. They will finish the regular season next week at home against Winslow on 5/12 at 5pm and they will celebrate their seniors on 5/13 against Pleasantville at 6pm.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
RECORD: 13-3
The boys volleyball team have won eight in a row to move to 13-3 on the season so far. With a win on Tuesday versus ACIT, the team will be crowned co-CAL American champions! This is the third season in a row that the program has won the title and in the short history of Cape Atlantic League boys volleyball play, there has never been a season where any EHT has not owned the title. Senior captain Joseph Vu eclipsed the 400 assists mark during the season night match versus Clearview while junior middle Thomas Norkevicius topped 100 kills this week against Hammonton. Additionally, junior captain Bryce Lake moved into second all time in career kills with 279! The boys finish out the regular season with a trimatch at Timber Creek with Williamstown on Saturday and then Cape May Tech and Atlantic County Tech next week before beginning tournament season with the CAL tournament next Friday.
BOYS AND GIRLS GOLF
The boys and girls golf teams' quest for a sectional title both came to an end on Monday. The girls, in their first season as a varsity program, finished 8th in the South Section A tournament. The boys did not qualify, however senior Captain Chase Adomaitis qualified as an individual. Chase shot a one over par 73 at the South Group IV tournament to place 9th out of 90 golfers. Some of the boys and girls are in contention for the CAL individual title, which will be held May 19.
BOYS TENNIS
The EHTHS Boys Tennis team continues to have an impressive 2025 season, currently standing at 9-4 overall and 6-0 in the Cape Atlantic League National Division. Under the leadership of Coach Harris and Coach Mulligan, the team has shown strong chemistry across all positions.
Senior captain Zack Borden has anchored the team at first singles, while Senior captain Vincent Zheng holds down second singles. Sophomore Nick Natchev shows resilience at third singles. First doubles team Alex Derbyshire and Jaden Tran have been a reliable force, while Michael Do and John Liberi have brought consistent victories to the second doubles position. Key contributions have also come from JV standouts Andrew Golley and Jayden Duna, who have stepped up to support the varsity squad when needed.
With three regular season matches remaining and playoffs on the horizon, the Eagles look to carry their momentum into the postseason and finish strong.

The boys Track team won the Atlantic County Meet on Tuesday. This is the team's 10th County Championship in a row! The team scored in 15 out of the 18 events to beat Mainland by a score of 108 to 100.

GIRLS LACROSSE
Girls Lacrosse had a hard fought loss on Monday with a final of 16-11 but Suhayla Johnson Ramirez had a great game that day as she successfully completed her record breaking 500th career save!
Suhayla is a senior varsity captain that has played varsity goalie all four years of her high school career! She is committed to the Culinary Institute of America University in New York as she chases another dream of hers off the field!
WAY TO GO SUHAYLA!🎉
In addition to Suhayla’s 500th career goal :
We had our EHT Youth girls come out to cheer us on for youth night!🖤
Tough overtime loss after fighting hard to come back from a 5-1 deficit in the first quarter to 11-11 in the third! EHT went into overtime 15-15 but couldn’t pull off the quick win after losing the draw. Back to work tomorrow for another game on our turf vs. Camden Catholic on Friday @ 5:15PM!
Overall, our youth girls were able to see a hard fought game & cheer on our JV from the sidelines!
SOFTBALL
Its been a big few week for the Lady Eagles softball team. On April 30th , Sofia Spatocco got her 100th career hit. Over the weekend, she was the player of our double header with 3 homeruns and 2 doubles. Today Spatocco earned her 100th RBI of her career.
Today Kaci Velardi earned her 100th career hit as well as broke the single season stolen base record with 31 and counting. This is added to her record 75 career steals and counting as well as record 10 career triples as well as single season record of 5.
Lots of great individual awards that have accompanied the Eagles winning 3 of their last 4 games.
We are now 8 and 13 and sitting as a 9 seed in the state playoffs.
