Volume 4/Issue 33 - April 13th, 2025

Halfway point until the end of April is here. Time is like a thief, always taking away moments. We often say "later" to our goals, but "later" can easily become "never." Don't let time steal your chances! Knowing that time goes fast should push you to act now. Use every moment to work on what you want. Let the passing of time make you want to get up and do things, instead of just waiting. Don't let time steal your dreams – go after them today!

✨Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)✨

Congratulations goes to our own Becky Schueth who has been named a State Finalist for this award!

This is the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching. Awards are given to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teachers who have both deep content knowledge of the subjects they teach and the ability to motivate and enable students to be successful in those areas.

Mrs. Schueth is currently teaching high school mathematics here at SRC. This is her 11th year at S-RC and I teach Geometry, Technical Math, College Algebra, PreCalculus and Calculus. Becky has 20 years of experience in teaching and she began her career at Columbus High School. Mrs. Schueth Bachelor’s (2005) and Master’s (2009) degrees are from Wayne State College. She enjoys sharing her excitement for math with her students each day!

When you see her, please make sure you congratulate her on this incredible achievement! We are all proud and rooting for you!

Message for the Week: Message for the Week:

    Message from Mr. Tejkl

    Believe in each other...

    Good morning!

I hope that everyone had a fantastic Saturday and that your Sunday is off to a great start. If you blew away, I hope you are slowly making your way back! We are on the verge of Easter Break and a little slow down may be what is in order. However, don't be comfortable. Keep pushing yourself and finish this year strong. We are on the verge of completing one of our best years yet and it is because of you!

This weeks quote is: "I believe that we are here for each other, not against each other. Everything comes from an understanding that you are a gift in my life - whoever you are, whatever our differences."

"Believe that we are here for each other...": This emphasizes the interconnectedness of our communities. It suggests that our individual journeys and successes are some how connected. As patrons, you are not just passive consumers; you are active participants in supporting something you value. As creators, we are not isolated entities; we rely on your enthusiasm and contributions to continue our work. This "for each other" implies a sense of reciprocity and mutual benefit. We are all here to contribute to and gain from this shared space.

"...not against each other.": This directly challenges any potential for division, negativity, or adversarial relationships. It encourages us to move away from a mindset of comparison, judgment, or conflict. Instead of seeing differences as barriers or feeling the need to compete, this part of the quote urges us to recognize our shared interests and goals. It fosters an environment where support and understanding are prioritized over criticism or opposition.

Ultimately, this quote encourages us to cultivate a positive and supportive ecosystem. By believing that we are all here to uplift and encourage one another, we can create a stronger, more vibrant, and more fulfilling community for everyone involved. It's about fostering a sense of shared mission and mutual respect, where we celebrate each other's contributions and work together towards common goals. If we can't do this, then we won't make it.

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Quote of the week to reflect on:

""I believe that we are here for each other, not against each other. Everything comes from an understanding that you are a gift in my life - whoever you are, whatever our differences."

    John Denver

    Sincerely,

    Tucker Tejkl
