The January 20, 2026 Newsletter
Dear Janney Families,
I hope you and your family had a restful long weekend. With the colder temperatures this week, I want to thank you for your patience and support with morning indoor arrival.
Yesterday, we paused as a country to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and reflect on his life and legacy. One meaningful example of this reflection can be found outside the art studio at Janney, where our art teacher, Robin Leed, created a space inviting students to share their dreams for Washington, D.C., our country, and the world. Students’ words and ideas remind us that Dr. King’s vision continues to live on through the hopes and voices of our children.
As we reflect on Dr. King’s words,
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?”
We are reminded of our core value of Community. At Janney, community means looking out for one another, honoring different perspectives, and working together to create a school where every child feels loved, challenged, and prepared.
Thank you for your continued partnership and care for our school community.
Sincerely,
Principal Singh
