A Note of Gratitude
This past week I was deeply honored to be recognized as Principal of the Year for Buncombe County Schools. I am honored to have received this recognition and I'm grateful for your words of encouragement and support. While this recognition has my name on it, I know it truly reflects the amazing work happening every day at North Buncombe Middle School. I am grateful for the dedication of our staff, the hard work of our students, and the support of our families who partner with us in countless ways. Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being such an important part of our school community.
Together, we make NBMS a special place to learn and grow!
In Appreciation, Nicholas
Thank You...
- A big thank you to all of our students and staff who showed their school spirit by participating in our dress-up days—your energy and enthusiasm make NBMS a special place!
- A big thank you to all of our parents and families who supported the NBMS Book Fair—your involvement helps put more books in the hands of our students and fosters a love of reading!
- We are so grateful to the many families who came out for our Open House Tail Gate! Your presence on campus and support made the evening a true celebration of our NBMS community.
Donations Appreciated
At NBMS, we want to make sure our students have what they need to stay focused and energized throughout the school day. We are currently accepting donations of individually packaged snacks such as crackers, granola bars, fruit snacks, and similar items for students who may need a quick boost.
In addition, our Hawks Hideaway Staff Lounge is always a place of encouragement and appreciation for our hardworking teachers and staff. Donations of drinks, snacks, and coffee pods are greatly appreciated and go a long way in keeping our team fueled and supported.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping us care for both our students and staff!
Student Library Cards Available
Buncombe County Schools students have the opportunity to check out books from their school library. As an additional service, we offer parents the opportunity to OPT IN for a NC Digital Public Library card for their student. Students are then allowed to check out up to 10 books or 10 audiobooks (or a combination of both that adds up to 10 total) at a time from anywhere in the collections of the public library. Here's the link for the form.
8th Grade Science Activities
We are excited to sponsor a hands-on learning experience for our 8th graders this week in their Science classes. River Link, the Department of Environmental Quality, NC Cooperative Extension, and Buncombe County Soil and Water Conservation will be on campus to share about groundwater, air quality, green energy, and invasive plant removal.
New Online Spirit Store
We are excited to share that our school now has an online spirit store! Spirit wear also makes a great gift for students, family members, and school supporters. When you purchase from the store, 10% comes back to our school and items are shipped directly to your address.
