Math Double Block Capstone Mastery Project Update
A vision shared at the beginning of the school year was to provide students enrolled in the 6th/9th grade Math Double-Block, the opportunity to engage in a Capstone Mastery Project. After receiving feedback from teachers and leaders and considering the current focus on the final stretch of instruction prior to testing, the required Capstone Mastery Project has been canceled for the 2024-2025 school year. The Curriculum & Instruction Department will continue collaborating with teachers and leaders to determine an opportunity for the 2025-2026 school year.

Cumulative Assessments for ELA, Math, and Science
As part of our preparation for the upcoming TCAP and EOC assessments, our Curriculum & Instruction Department is releasing sample cumulative formative assessments for ELA, Math, and Science. These assessments are available to provide additional TCAP and EOC type practice items to integrate into Tier 1. Administration of these as practice tests is not required but leaders and teacher may consider the following:
- Integrate into lesson opening-closing or independent practice time
- Identify the opportunity standards aligned with your student needs and administer a practice assessment, include review during small group or partner time
- Share assessment items as homework to highlight for families, test taking strategies and steps for reinforcing positive study habits
- Include within small group remediation or enrichment opportunities, which can include teacher led small group, collaborative groups, or partner practice.
