September Student of the Month Winners

Congratulations to our September student of the month winners! We are proud of these students for doing their best and showing our SOAR (safe, optimistic, accountable, respectful) expectations.

Food Pantry Friday

Food Pantry Friday is a service and outreach project we do to help our community! Each week, students are asked to send in certain items that benefit two local food pantry locations. Fifth grade students collect donations from each classroom. Fifth graders then count, sort, pack, graph, add and multiply the donations. Writing and enrichment activities are also developed around this project!

We will collect different items each week. This week, we are collecting canned meat/pouches. If you are able, please send in donations with your student at any time this week.

Girls on the Run

Time is running out to register for Girls on the Run! Our season starts September 25th and spots are limited. Sign up today!

We are excited to offer Girls on the Run again this fall! Girls on the Run is an after-school program that focuses on the connection between girls' physical and emotional health. The program teaches girls important life skills all while they train for a 5K!

Coaches work with students twice a week for ten weeks using targeted lessons and physical activity to instill confidence and compassion in each girl. Our team will meet Mondays & Wednesdays after school starting on September 25th. Transportation is not provided. Students can register for either team 1 or 2 (we will still be one team!).

For more information and to register, view the flyer below or click here. Questions or need financial assistance? Contact Kristin Dunnigan at kdunnigan@glnd.k12.va.us.

Helpful Links & Information

Please notify the office about transportation changes via email at: beseagles@glnd.k12.va.us.

If you have daily transportation needs, please make sure you provide changes at the beginning of each week for the entire week. This allows staff time to communicate all necessary changes and avoids confusion when a call is not received. We appreciate your support.

Parents who wish to chaperone a field trip or volunteer regularly in our school must submit to a background check every 2 years using the BIB portal. The process is completely electronic. If you are having problems with the system, contact Demetra Harris at dharris@glnd.k12.va.us.
