Wildcat Weekly 10/12/2026
From the Principal
Thank you to all of our families who took the time to participate in Parent Teacher Conferences on October 8th and 9th. We greatly appreciate your time and your partnership with our teachers. These conversations provide an important opportunity to celebrate student successes, discuss areas for growth, and work together to make sure each child has the support they need to be successful. Your involvement makes a difference, and we are grateful for the strong partnership between our families and school staff.
We would also like to thank the parents who participated in our Parent Voice Committee meeting on October 7th. We appreciate those who took the time to share their thoughts, ask questions, and provide feedback about our school. Parent input is an important part of our continued growth, and we value having opportunities to hear directly from the families we serve. We look forward to continuing these conversations throughout the year.
Finally, please remember that Wednesday, October 14th is an early release day at West Elementary. Please make sure you have reviewed your child’s dismissal plan and made any necessary arrangements ahead of time. As always, we appreciate your help in making dismissal as smooth and safe as possible for all of our students.
Thank you again for your continued support, involvement, and partnership. We are grateful to have such committed families as part of the West Elementary community!

Title I Information
West Elementary School in Zion, IL is a Title I school, which means we receive federal funding to help ensure all students have access to a high-quality education. This support allows us to provide extra help in reading and math for students who may need it. Title I funding also helps us offer additional classroom resources, technology, and instructional materials. Our teachers use these tools to create engaging lessons that meet each child’s learning needs. Families may also see more school programs and activities designed to support learning at home. Being a Title I school helps us work together to give every student the opportunity to succeed.
