AP Exam Schedule
The 2026 AP Exam schedule is now available to view. Exams will begin on Tuesday, May 5 and will continue through May 22nd. Students should download, print out, bookmark, or find another way to save a copy of the testing grid for their personal use. In addition, students may check the Advanced Placement website https://elcamino.sanjuan.edu/academics/programs/advanced-placement
to review required items to bring on their AP exam days as well as the list of prohibited items. Students may bring bottled water and light snacks which may be consumed during scheduled break times, but they may not bring other food items and beverages into the testing location. There are also reminders and helpful resources students can access to prepare for their upcoming exams. Of course, students should work closely with their AP teachers and their peers and are encouraged to peruse and utilize available study guides in their AP course rooms.

Artists of the Week
We have two artists of the week and they are Gisselle Escobedo-Martell (11th grade) and Kristi Castro (10th grade). Both are winners in the 2026 Congressional Art Competition for the 6th district of California!
Gisselle won 1st place and is in Mrs. McDonald's AP Drawing class. Gisselle's artwork, "My Childhood," will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will include the winning artwork from all participating districts from around the country. Winners are also featured on house.gov's Congressional Art Competition page.
Gisselle's artist statement: "My childhood had four things: comfort, joy, hope and growth. The tiara represents the joy I had in my princess birthday parties as a kid, the bunny represents the comfort I had when I had nightmares, the beaded necklace with a Jesus picture represents my hope that I had in coming back home safely when I left school alone (I did make it home safely), and the Rio movie represents my growth in learning new words and communication skills when I struggled to talk since I was six. I cherish these things about me, and I love those experiences because they made me who I am today."
Kristi won 3rd place and is in Mrs. McDonald's Advanced Drawing and Painting. Kristi's artwork, "Tiger Trompe L'oeil," will be hung in the Sacramento office in the U.S. Capitol.
Kristi's artist statement: "This piece captures a realistic tiger breaking through the frame, symbolizing strength that refused to be contained. I focused on detailed textures and shading to bring the tiger to life and made it feel like it's entering the viewer's space. The composition plays with the boundary between artwork and reality, creating a sense of movement and power. Through this, I wanted to show both the beauty and intensity of nature in a bold, eye-catching way."
