Celebrating Our Seal of Biliteracy Recipients
We are excited to celebrate 151 graduating seniors from Davis Senior High School, Da Vinci High School, and the Davis School for Independent Study who have earned the California State Seal of Biliteracy for the Class of 2026. In addition, 11 students earned recognition in two languages.
The Seal of Biliteracy honors students who demonstrate proficiency in English and at least one additional language. This year’s students demonstrated proficiency in languages including Armenian, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, Ukrainian, and Turkish.
We are especially proud that many multilingual learners earned this distinction, reflecting the strengths and talents our students bring to our schools and community. Congratulations to all of our students and families on this incredible accomplishment, and thank you to the staff members who supported students throughout their multilingual journeys
Celebrating Our AVID Seniors
The AVID program continues to support students in achieving their postsecondary goals through college readiness experiences, academic support, and exposure to higher education opportunities. This year, AVID students participated in a variety of college field trips and enrichment experiences designed to expand college and career awareness and help students envision pathways beyond high school.
Among graduating AVID seniors this year, approximately 46% will attend four-year universities, including University of California, Irvine, University of California, Davis, San José State University, California State University, Stanislaus, California State University, Sacramento, and the United States Air Force Academy. Approximately 54% of students will begin their higher education journeys at community colleges. Of those students, more than half had always planned to begin at a community college, while others were also accepted to four-year universities, including multiple University of California campuses, and ultimately chose the community college pathway based on personal or financial considerations. These outcomes reflect the thoughtful planning, perseverance, and diverse postsecondary goals of our AVID students and families.
