Hello Class of 2026 students and families,
We are off to a great senior year for the Class of 2026! While graduation is still some time away, there are numerous important topics and events we want you to be informed about throughout this important year. We want to ensure our seniors are set up for success both this year and as they prepare for their next chapter after graduation.
Throughout the year, we will be sharing occasional updates with you - senior students and families. As we move closer to graduation, you can expect more frequent updates. It is important that students check both their MyPanthers email and Schoology frequently to ensure they are getting all the information they need to be successful this year.
Parents, I hope you'll join me for the first SLPHS Parent-Principal Connect online event next Wednesday, September 24, 3:30-4 p.m. See more details below.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your student’s counselor or our main office.
We look forward to the special senior moments and events in the months to come.
Megan Jahnke
Principal

Watch your email: Direct Admissions emails are on the way
We recently communicated about our participation in the Direct Admissions Minnesota program. Through this program, seniors can receive proactive admission to colleges and universities across the state - no extra applications, no fees, just opportunities. There are 55 Minnesota colleges and universities participating in Direct Admissions. They include a wide variety of options.
Direct admission emails will hit student MyPanther email accounts beginning the week of September 22. For more detailed information, refer to the email that went to seniors and families or visit the website. And remember, your counselor is here to answer questions, provide guidance, and help you plan your next steps. Don’t hesitate to reach out.
Parent-Principal Connect, September 24
Parent-principal meetings are a cornerstone of strong school-family communication. It is designed to foster collaboration, transparency, and mutual understanding between a student's guardians and the school's leadership. Join me next Wednesday, September 24 - and every last Wednesday of the month - from 3:30-4 p.m. via this WebEx link.
Senior Panoramic photo, October 7
The Senior Panoramic photo will be taken on October 7 at 2:40 p.m. outside on the Panther Stadium bleachers.
Counselor meetings
Counselor meeting invitations will be mailed out to all families this year. Students and parents are invited to these meetings, to attend either in person or virtually. If you would like to see your counselor sooner than later, please email your counselor for calendar openings.
Checking credit
Parents, please have your student review their credits with you. If you are worried about a failed course, reach out to your counselor to discuss options for credit recovery.
