Bristol Township School District
October/November 2025
Superintendent's Letter
Dear Bristol Township School Community,
I hope your school year is progressing nicely as we make our way into November!
October had many highlights throughout the Bristol Township School District. At our elementary schools, students enjoyed their Halloween parades as well as learning about fire safety during Fire Prevention Week. Over at Truman, students honored their teachers with their "Shirt off my back" initiative, celebrated our newest inductees into the National Honor Society, and enjoyed our serving line cafeteria improvements and renovations. Also, across the district, Red Ribbon and Anti-Bullying activities were taking place to help promote a positive and harmonious learning environment throughout the school community.
Please check out our monthly newsletter for updates on each of these and more, and best wishes for a great November as we move into the holiday season and winter months.
Sincerely,
Michael Nitti
Superintendent of Schools
SNAP Benefits
Due to the federal government shutdown, SNAP benefits froze on November 1, 2025. During this stressful time, we want to remind you of a crucial resource: The BTSD Food Service Department offers breakfast and lunch to ALL BTSD students at NO COST. No application or further action needed.
We encourage families needing additional help to visit local food pantries.
Another great resource is the Bucks County HUB website.
Stay tuned for more updates on additional support from the BTSD community.
Happy Halloween!

Serving Line Cafeteria Renovation
Truman High School's cafeteria was upgraded in September with three new serving lines! The QuickSwitch technology allows the Food Service Department to have more flexibility with what and how they serve. Cold and hot items can be next to each other, and wells can switch from hot-to-cold-to-freeze within 1.5 hours.
A big shout out to the Maintenance Department for their involvement in the renovation!
"I'm really proud to be able to do this for the students and staff at Truman," said Food Service Director Brandon Lang. "It has been a long time coming and they deserve it!"
Read the case study by the manufacturer LTI for more information about this project.
National Honor Society Induction
Congratulations to the 19 seniors and juniors inducted in Truman's National Honor Society on October 15.
Held in Truman High School’s Lou Volpe Auditorium, inductees participated in a candle-lighting ceremony and recited the NHS pledge to be sworn in. Principal Jon Craig and Elizabeth Gregory, teacher and faculty advisor, provided remarks to students and parents, and several new members spoke about the four pillars. NHS officers for 2025-26 helped to plan and execute the ceremony. They included Nadia Mohli, Vice President Emir Ozturk, Secretary Audrey McGeachy, and Treasurer Payge Engle.

Fall sports - Shirt Off My Back
Seniors in fall sports nominated a Bristol Township staff member, past or present, who has made a profound impact inside and outside the classroom for Shirt Off My Back!
By awarding a specific staff member, the student recognizes their efforts and contributions. Staff who are selected receive a handwritten letter from their nominator, explaining the reasons for the selection, along with a T-shirt featuring the student’s name.
