Volunteers
If you plan to help out at Superior High School, please visit the link below and complete the 2 PART process. If you need assistance with the fee associated with the background check, please email leann.egnash@superior.k12.wi.us and she can help you. We do not want this fee to deter you from making a positive difference at our school. You can specify in your application if you want it to include multiple schools within our district. This check is valid for one year from the date it is complete.
All Night Grad Party Support
Our 2025 All Night Grad Party Committee is already planning a fun and safe evening for our Spartan Graduates on the evening of June 6th. Visit their site for more information and ways to support.
PBIS at SHS
PBIS (positive behavior interventions and supports) is a system that focuses on reinforcing positive behavior by providing clear expectations to students and teaching them what those expectations look like in action. PBIS provides meaningful incentives for students when they are showing expected behavior and provides reteaching to students who may need more support in understanding how to show expected behavior throughout the building.
Our three core beliefs are work, respect, and belong. We have conversations about these values throughout our building. We explain what it looks like to work, respect, and belong as a student in each area of our school and encourage students to show work, respect, and belong by creating incentives. Based off of student data, we are still needed to continue to focus on attendance (kids in seats on time every day). Staff are encouraged to award students with a Spartan ticket, which they can turn in for various incentives. How can you help support our efforts? We are looking for prizes, gift cards, or experiences that will get our students excited. Any donations can be turned into the main office to the attention of Matt Amerson. We have also created this Amazon Wishlist. Another way to support is to shop the Spartan Shack online for gear we can use toward prizes. Our students love Spartan swag!
Performing Arts
Spartans in Ms. Gilbert's beginning theatre class learned about Japanese Bunraku Theatre last week. They learned about puppetry, made a Bunraku style puppet, and will perform scenes with their puppets. Students were working with student teacher Jessica Kimmes on this project.

The holiday season can be magical. For many people, though, including teens, the holidays can be just the opposite—a stressful time that sparks or exacerbates feelings of anxiety, sadness, loneliness, and depression.
Beyond the wish list (that tends to get more extravagant the older they get), what teens need most from parents is understanding and support. This includes holiday stress-management skills to help reduce stress during this time of year. Here are a few articles to consider as the holiday season approaches.
