Welcome back, Potomac Falls Students and Families,

We have exciting updates, changes, and information to share.

1. New ParentVUE mobile app: The new ParentVUE mobile app has enhanced features and a streamlined look and feel. If you try to use the older version of the app, you will be prompted to download the new app. Please click the hyperlink below for additional information about the new ParentVUE mobile app.
   
2. Parent Attendance Submissions: Parents can now submit attendance with specific options for arriving late or leaving early. This provides more flexibility and accuracy for tracking student whereabouts directly from the parent portal.
   
   

As we welcome the Class of 2030 and start another school year, we want to remind everyone to move slowly and safely in our school parking lot. We have one way in and one way out of our school, so patience and extra careful driving are a must. Additionally, several staff and students need to use our crosswalks safely to and from school. Students may enter the building and sit in the cafeteria at 8:45 a.m. each school day.

This week, our School Counseling and Administrative teams will be working with students to address schedule questions and adjustments. Additionally, we will have an Advisory schedule the first week of school to build relationships and review expectations and policies.

Lastly, little changes lead to big changes! If we all try our best every single day, we will make a lasting IMPACT and be NEXT LEVEL!

We will follow an Advisory Bell Schedule the first week of school. Please click on Bell Schedules to access our bell schedules. After the first week of school, we will follow a regular bell schedule except on Wednesdays, when we will follow an Advisory schedule.

Early Dismissals:

ALL same-day early dismissals must be submitted through ParentVue by 1:00 p.m. and at least 30 minutes before dismissal. The Attendance Office will not process Early Dismissal requests submitted through ParentVue after 1:00 p.m.

If you are picking up your student without a ParentVue or previously submitted request, you must COME INTO the building to the main office, present your ID, and fill out a form for dismissal. You can request an early dismissal via ParentVue or by sending a handwritten note with your student to be turned in to Attendance first thing in the morning.

We DO NOT accept early dismissals over the phone for student safety reasons.

If your student is sick and needs to go home, the student must visit the Clinic to receive a dismissal pass from the school Nurse.

ALL STUDENTS NEED TO CHECK OUT ON THE IPAD IN THE MAIN OFFICE BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE BUILDING FOR AN EARLY DISMISSAL.

There are no walk-in early dismissals after 3:45 p.m.

Please enter Tardies into ParentVue.

All Tardies and Early Dismissals will be marked UNEXCUSED unless a Dr’s note, PT appointment schedule, etc. is received. You can upload notes to ParentVue at any time; please include the date the note is for in the comments section.

Absences

If your student is absent from school, please report this in ParentVue or call the school.

Student Athletes

All Student Athletes must have a doctor's note, dentist's note, or other type of documentation if they are tardy to school or leave via early dismissal. Student Athletes will not be allowed to practice or play without documentation. If the student is absent for the day, they will not be allowed to practice or play that day.
