Warehouse Refrigeration Upgrades
Did you know the KSD Central Office was built more than 50 years ago in 1972? There is a part of the district office that most people have never seen yet it is the heartbeat of the KSD food services department that served over 117,000 meals last year (yes, that's a hundred and seventeen THOUSAND meals). Thanks to the stick-to-it-ivness of Food Services Director Leah Figueora, there are now brand-new, state of the art refrigerator and freezer installed to replace the units that were original to the building. This was a major undertaking and we are so thankful Leah took the challenge head on. The funding for the new equipment was from interest earned on the HB 521School Modernization Facilities Funding.

PES Science Fun
Ms. Ward's 2nd graders are learning about materials and properties in science. They were given a challenge to build a tall tower only using paper cards and clips. Then they were asked to come up with a "strong" version that could hold a book on top of it. So many creative ideas.

Powered By Presence β‘
How Daily Attendance Fuels Our Students and Schools
Building on our "Powered By Presence" kickoff, we want to share a closer look at what showing up every day truly powers across our district. Academically, learning is cumulative; each day in class gives students the hands-on practice, real-time discussions, and peer collaboration needed to master new concepts without falling behind. Equally important, daily presence powers connection. Being here gives students a consistent place to build social-emotional skills, practice teamwork, and form the lasting friendships that create a strong sense of belonging.
Beyond individual growth, consistent attendance directly shapes our school's resources. In Idaho, state funding is calculated using daily attendance rates, meaning every day your child is present actively protects and fuels the programs they love most, from athletics and fine arts to updated classroom technology. When our students show up, they aren't just keeping pace with their studies; they are powering the success and spirit of our entire community. Thank you for continuing to partner with us to make every day count!
