Bus Behavior
Mrs. Sullivan, Deer Hill Principal, and I have been working together to address concerns arising from inappropriate bus behavior. I ask that you partner with us in reminding your child about being respectful, responsible, and safe on the buses at all times. Riding the bus to and from school is a privilege and we need to work together to be sure all students and staff are safe, physically and emotionally, while riding. Please remind your children of the following:
Stay in your seat
Stay in your bubble space
Use a voice level 1
and, as always, Be Kind
Thank you for your support.
Additionally, I'd like to thank the families of buses 1, 6, and 7, for their flexibility last week with the bus schedule. I understand that the plan for buses 6 and 7 will be in effect again in the coming week, as the repair on bus 7 is still not complete. Kim Zitoli and I will keep you updated.
Fall Enrichment Registration
The registration link for the Fall Enrichment classes will be emailed to families at noon on Monday 9/29. Please choose one class for your child if you would like them to participate (see the flyer above for more details).
Please note, we will no longer be using My School Bux for payment and will be sending out a link to complete payment using once classes are confirmed.
Outdoor Family Movie Night Details
Taking place on Friday, October 3rd on the field at Deer Hill we are doing a showing of Disney's Live Action Lilo & Stitch. Bring the family, bring a blanket and grab your spot starting at 5:45pm.

You can also pre-order a “kid snack pack” and have it ready and waiting when you arrive.

Echo
Each year, Mrs. Deininger, our Reading Specialist, works with staff to select a book that every student will get to enjoy as a read aloud. It is similar to the One Book, One School program. Each classroom receives a copy of the book so that the students can explore it individually as well. This year, our selected book is Echo, by New York Times bestselling author and illustrator, Adam Rex. It is a story about how being friends with someone doesn't mean you always agree with them. How dull would life be if everyone always agreed?! Below is a link to a read aloud of the story on YouTube if you'd like to enjoy it as well!
We were lucky to have guest readers come to The Osgood to read the story with each grade level. Thank you Mrs. Shannon and Dr. Scollins for taking the time to read with us!
Mrs. Gaudette was kindergarten's Guest Reader
Dr. Scollins was 1st Grade's Guest Reader
Mrs. Shannon was 2nd Grade's Guest Reader

Trunk-or-Treat
It’s that time of year again... pumpkins, costumes, and LOTS of fun! We’re thrilled to invite you to the annual Osgood Fall Festival Trunk or Treat - happening right in the Osgood parking lot on Friday, October 24th from 4:30–5:30pm (rain date October 25).
This spook-tacular event is one of our favorite fall traditions, and we can’t wait to see our community come together for another year of festive fun! 🎃🍂👻
We’re looking for 21 awesome "Trunk Hosts" to help make the magic happen! Want to decorate your car, dress up, and hand out goodies to adorable trick-or-treaters? Sign up HERE!
✨ What you’ll need to bring as a Trunk Host:
A fun and festive trunk display (get creative!)
300-400 non-food trinkets to hand out (This is an allergen-friendly event - think stickers, glow sticks, bubbles, etc.)
💡 Want to host a trunk but can’t provide trinkets? No problem - just let us know and we’ll work it out!
Questions? Ideas? Costume inspiration? We’d love to hear from you - shoot us an email at osgood@cohassetpso.org.
Let’s make this year’s Trunk or Treat the best one yet! 🎉
PSO Directory
Each year, our PSO puts together a directory for room parents to share out with the class. Please complete the form linked below to opt in or out of the directory. Please complete the form for each Osgood student in your family.
Please leave toys at home
This includes the tiny resin animals collections that have become so popular, Pokemon cards, etc. Toys often become disruptive at school, from losing them, to trading them, to using them during instructional time. Students are not supposed to have them on buses either, so best to leave them at home, please.
Of course, there are times that teachers will allow stuffies as part of a pajama day or the like...so look out for those opportunities!
Just a Reminder- Dogs are not allowed on campus
For the safety of our children and staff, dogs are not allowed on campus, including during drop-off and pick-up. If your family has a service dog, please have them wear the appropriate identification.

What Expertise Can YOU Offer Our Students?
Cohasset is a community comprised of experts in a wide variety of fields. In order to deliver more authentic, hands-on, project-based learning experiences to students, the Cohasset School Committee, in collaboration with district leadership, is working to develop a "Community Resource Guide." This Guide will serve as an invaluable resource to our classroom teachers and school staff, as it will provide them with a comprehensive database of all stakeholders and interested parties who are willing to share their background, experience, and expertise in furtherance of our mission to Empower Students to Improve Communities.
There are many different ways in which one might participate in this endeavor, including classroom presentations, hosting or facilitating field trips, creating shadow or internship opportunities, or assisting with project-based learning experiences.
If you are willing to share your unique talents, passions, interests, and/or expertise, please click this link to fill out a brief interest form. We thank you for your willingness to volunteer your time in order to deliver impactful learning experiences to CPS students.
Onward and Upward,
Your School Committee
Transportation
