ACT for Juniors: March 19th
Dear Junior Students, Parents, & Guardians,
This is a reminder about the ACT Test on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025. Each Junior student enrolled in SFHS is already registered to take the test. Students will need to arrive at 7:40 AM on test day with their charged and updated Chromebook/charger, a photo ID, #2 pencil for scratch work, and a calculator if wanted. There will be a calculator available on the testing software during the Math section if interested, but the school WILL NOT provide calculators. Testing will begin promptly at 7:50 AM. Room assignments will be posted by March 5th.
There is a 'non-test information' part of the ACT to complete, but it is not required. This allows ACT to collect helpful data, and provides students with the opportunity to send their scores to different colleges/universities for free. We will use our History classes to complete this task. If a student does not have a current History class, this information can be given to them before the test to complete on their own. If you need that information, go talk to Mrs. Christensen before Friday, March 14th.
The ACT test will be administered on a Chromebook. If you would like to take a tutorial of the TestNav software, take practice tests, or view other helpful ACT resources, follow the links below. You do not need to login to the practice test site, just click on the practice test option.
TestNav Tutorial/Practice Tests
Electronics of any kind will not be permitted on test day. This includes cell phones, smart watches, and fitness bands. We encourage all of our students to get a good night's rest before the test and eat a wholesome breakfast that morning. Breakfast and a to-go lunch will be served on test day. There will also be snacks available during the break. Bus transportation is available to our students who qualify for a bus. Our bus routes/drop-offs will be slightly different than normal. For more information, please contact our front office.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Christensen at jaime.christensen@nebo.edu
Good luck to our Juniors!

-Click on the Settings (gear) Icon (upper-right area)
-Click on About Chrome OS (lower left on list)

Volunteer for Good
Parents/Guardians and Students,
We’re excited to announce a new program in Nebo School District. It’s called “Volunteer for Good.” This program provides service opportunities in our high schools and community. Students are not required to participate; this is a voluntary opportunity. Volunteering is a great way for students to give back to their community while also gaining valuable skills and experiences. Whether it’s helping at a local food bank, tutoring younger students, or assisting at community events, volunteering allows students to make a difference in the lives of others. Furthermore, volunteering can boost students’ self-confidence and sense of purpose. Engaging in meaningful activities can help students feel more connected to their school and community. By encouraging volunteer work, we can help shape responsible, compassionate individuals who are prepared for the future. Students can also showcase their commitment to civic engagement and personal growth.
Any students who log service hours may receive prizes and scholarships this year! Volunteer opportunities may be created by school personnel. Students may also participate in local community events or charities within the state to earn hours.
Scholarships (Awarded to seniors at each high school per year)
$500 (1st place)
$300 (2nd place)
$200 (3rd place)
Seal of Service Certificate
Given to anyone who earns 25 hours of “Volunteer for Good” service per year
Resume
Students can add service hours to their resume for various applications
How to Access “Volunteer for Good”
The student login is on each school's website under the “students” tab. It’s also located on Nebo School District’s website under “students.” There is a link for each high school.

JROTC Program
Would your student be interested in a JROTC Program?
A Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program is an optional, student-led, high school course that teaches leadership, citizenship, personal responsibility, and life skills. It also provides opportunities for extracurricular activities, community involvement, and college scholarships. JROTC is not a commitment to the military, not a recruiting program, and does not teach combat skills. The focus on leadership and discipline make JROTC one of the most successful and impactful youth organizations in the nation, and is integrated as an optional class in a regular high school schedule, with accredited curriculum.
Currently, no high school in the Nebo district offers a JROTC program, but there is a growing effort to share information and gather interest from parents and students, to potentially implement JROTC in one of our high schools. Please visit www.JROTC4Nebo.org for more information, and fill out the survey indicating your interest!
