OLVCS Updates

Trunk or Treat is happening this Sunday October 25th from 5:00 - 6:00 pm behind the school in the parking lot. This is a fun event open to all OLVCS families, preschool-8th grade. Adult and middle school student helpers are needed. Service hours are available. See details below.

This coming Wednesday the 28th is the end of the first marking period. Report cards will not be sent home until early November, via document delivery (e-mail), for students in grades 1-8. Kindergarten students will have their paper report cards sent home the same day the email goes out.

Next Friday, October 30th, is the last day students are permitted to wear shorts and skirts (without leggings) until April 15. Those details are here: Uniform Requirements On this page if you scroll down to General Requirements, you can click on Shirts, Bottoms, Socks/tights/leggings etc. You will find all the information you need.

Saturday, November 7th is the church Bazaar. It is a fun parish event with lots of great food, drawings for cash and other prizes and games for kids. Come see the theme baskets our homerooms made. You could be a winner! We hope you are able to come and participate in this parish event. All are invited.

An email was sent earlier this morning regarding annual lessons for Empowering God's Children. Lessons and Opt-Out forms were attached. If you choose to opt your child out, you must submit that form to your child's teacher or the office by next Friday, 10/30. Each homeroom will have one lesson, they select from those available, taught sometime during the first two weeks of November.

OLVCS is having our annual IGNATIUS BOOK FAIR November 10-15th! We need help with set up, packing up, and sales throughout the week. There will be time during school Tuesday -Thursday for OLV Students to purchase books and after Masses on Saturday and Sunday for our whole parish community. Please sign up below. You may volunteer for any time slot. Classes are listed in the time slots if you'd like to volunteer with your student's class.

Wednesday, October 28 - The Preschool classrooms will be celebrating the Harvest and All Hallow's Eve with costumes, parties, & fun! Children are encouraged to come in costumes. Please avoid costumes depicting witches and other scary characters as well as characters who engage in violent activities.

Monday, November 2 - The Preschool will celebrate All Saints Day by dressing up and having a parade with the kindergarten classes following Monday Mass. Parents are encouraged to attend Mass then Meet the Preschoolers at the Mary statue to watch the parade.

More information about both of these events will be coming home in Friday folders this week.

Damascus Summer Camp 2027 Pre-Order registration is open. Because our group placed a Pre-Order, your camper has early access to our reserved spaces before general registration opens.

Please register by October 31st at 5 PM. After this deadline, any unregistered Pre-Order spaces will be released and made available to other groups and the general public.

On October 25th from 3-4pm, Trey Zanghi will be hosting a Trunk or Treat for his Eagle Scout Project at the Grays Woods Geisinger Parking Lot. People can dress up in costume, and go around Trick or Treating out of the back of peoples cars. What's even better is that everything will be completely allergy safe, so it will be fun for everyone. My name is Laurie, and I am a volunteer coordinator for the MercyMe concert coming to State College, PA on Saturday, October 24th at 4:30 PM.
