February 2025 NRESC Updates from Dr. Vancheri
It was a February to Remember!
Greetings to the Wonderful NRESC Family!
February was a short but very busy month here at the NRESC. A lot of "moving and shaking" took place regarding this school year, as well as the 2025-2026 school year and beyond.
As we close out February, it is an important time to review communications between stakeholders and be aware of the following:
- When is "less, more" and when does "more need to be less?" Sometimes a big issue needs all of the details at one's disposal and, other times, a three paragraph email could be replaced by a quick chat in-person.
- Passive aggression does not help anyone. Say what you mean to say.
- Chain of command is important. As a former social studies teacher, one of my go-to comments about government was "If your garbage is not picked up today, you do not call the White House." It is important to communicate issues with people via the chain of command because they are on the ground and very knowledgeable of the day-to-day operations but, more importantly, this is how we build strong stakeholder teams by open and honest communication.
"Good communication is a bridge between confusion and clarity."
- Nat Turner
"But good healthy communication is impossible without openness, honesty, and vulnerability."
- Paul Kendall
Looking forward to March-ing forward with all of you!
