A Week Full of Spirit!

As we wrapped up our final 1.5-day week, we officially closed out 2025 together—and what a joyful ending it was. We finished our final morning as a community with our favorite school-wide holiday sing-along (be sure to check our Instagram reel soon!) and a heartfelt clap-out for Mrs. Dean, a long-time member of our Fern Hill family. After years of steady dedication to our students and staff, she is heading into an extended winter break—also known as retirement—and we wish her nothing but happiness in this next chapter.

Over the past week, our halls were filled with festive energy and Bobcat pride as students enjoyed spirit days, Bingo with Dr. Southmayd, class celebrations, and meaningful moments together. It was a wonderful reminder of the strong, joyful community we continue to build at Fern Hill.

As winter break begins, we want to extend a sincere thank you to our families for your partnership, flexibility, and support. Your collaboration helps make Fern Hill a place where students feel connected, cared for, and challenged—and we are grateful for you.

📅 Looking Ahead

December 24 – January 4: Winter Break
January 5: Students and staff return to school

Please note that the school office is closed during winter break. We also encourage families to be mindful of email communication during this time so our staff can fully unplug and enjoy time with their own families. If an urgent need arises that cannot wait until January 5, families may contact Dr. Southmayd directly.

Wishing our Bobcat families a restful, joyful, and cozy winter break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the New Year!

Volunteer Clearances

We love having our families volunteer throughout the building. In order to volunteer, adults are required to have their clearances on file with us. Clearances can take 4-6 weeks to acquire, so please be sure to get the process started if you're looking to volunteer this Fall.
