Dear Fremont Community,

Our students continue to show tremendous growth and achievement across the District, aligned with our “Growth and Achievement for ALL” strategic goal area. Recent highlights include the following:

2026 Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Fall Assessment

  • Math and Reading - all seven of our grades that took the assessment met or exceeded growth projections from last fall to this fall.

  • Our 8th-grade Class of 2026 ranked in the top 10% nationally in both Math (94th percentile) and Reading (91st percentile).

Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR)

  • We continue to see tremendous growth from our students on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness. Since 2023, we have increased proficiency by +13% in English Language Arts (ELA) and +6% in Math.

Algebra I and Geometry Completion Rates

The percentage of 8th graders in our district who have completed Algebra I or Geometry has increased from 40% in 2022 to 65% in 2026.

2026 State Summative Designations

The Illinois State Board of Education has released school summative designations for 2026, and we are thrilled that all of our schools have earned tremendous marks:

  • Elementary School - Exemplary (highest designation)

  • Intermediate School - Exemplary (highest designation)

  • Middle School - Approaching Exemplary (second-highest designation)

We thank our students, educators, and families for their collaboration and commitment to our ongoing growth and achievement.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brian Bullis

Assistant Superintendent of Learning

Parent University Virtual Presentation—RULER Framework—Nov. 11 Parent University Virtual Presentation—RULER Framework—Nov. 11

Mark your calendars for November 11 as we invite all parents and guardians to join us for our upcoming virtual Parent University: Connecting RULER Social-Emotional Learning from School to Home, presented by Fremont staff.

Across all grade levels, our classrooms have been actively embedding the RULER framework (developed by the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence) into daily learning. During this virtual interactive session, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of our schoolwide RULER rollout and take home practical strategies to use the Mood Meter and Charter concepts within your family routine.

A Zoom link for the presentation will be shared with families closer to the date of the event.

This week is National School Bus Safety Week, and a great reminder that student safety is a shared community effort. Please take a moment to review these essential safety rules with your family:

For Drivers:

  • Always stop for buses with flashing red lights and extended stop arms.
  • Remain stopped until the lights turn off and the arm retracts.
  • Stay alert for children near bus stops.

For Students:

  • Stand at least 10 feet back from the bus in a designated waiting area.
  • Never approach a moving bus.
  • Wait until the bus stops completely, the parking brake is set, and the door opens before approaching.
  • Stay alert and always follow the driver's instructions.

Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students safe every day. For additional information, visit National School Bus Safety Resources.

County School Facility Tax on Nov. 3 Ballot County School Facility Tax on Nov. 3 Ballot

Lake County Regional Office of Education approved a resolution to place a referendum on the November 3, 2026, ballot seeking voter authorization for a 1% County School Facilities Sales Tax (CSFT). If approved by county voters, this sales tax would provide an alternative revenue source for school facility needs, currently funded primarily by property taxes. Please utilize the following resources to learn more about this potential additional funding source for our schools:

  • FSD79 CSFT Informational Webpage
