Your Weekly Cougar News
- Happy Friday!
October 18 - October 24, 2026
There is something special about fall at LCS! Between Homecoming, celebrating our first Students of the Month, and watching our students practice ROAR throughout the school, we have so much to be thankful for.
One of my favorite parts of the day is getting outside at recess and watching our students play. Recently, I loved seeing students invite new classmates into their games and make sure everyone felt included. It may seem like a small thing, but those are the moments that warm my heart. We talk a lot about showing kindness and living out our faith, and it is such a joy to see our students doing just that.
As I watched those friendships grow, I was reminded of 1 John 4:11 (ESV): “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” What a beautiful reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can be an opportunity to share God's love.
My encouragement this week is to look for those little opportunities to show God's love to others. Whether it's inviting someone to join in, offering a kind word, or helping someone who needs a hand, those simple moments matter.
Thank you, families, for the many ways you support our school, encourage our teachers, and help make LCS such a special place. I am grateful that we get to partner together in raising children who love God and love others.

We were honored to welcome representatives from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) to Lenawee Christian School this past week as part of our accreditation renewal process. We are excited to share that our accreditation has been renewed for an additional six years!
ACSI accreditation is a rigorous process of self-evaluation and peer review designed to help Christian schools pursue excellence while remaining grounded in a Christ-centered philosophy of education. This renewal is a meaningful affirmation of the work taking place at Lenawee Christian School as we continue to grow, improve, and faithfully fulfill our mission of providing Christian education.
Congratulations to our teachers and staff for a job well done! Go Cougars!

Weekly Chapel Update
Our fourth-grade students hosted a fun and memorable chapel as we welcomed Steve and Janet Raeburn from Adrian First Church of the Nazarene. Through amazing balloon creations, illusions, and a little laughter, our students learned what it means to follow Jesus, our Good Shepherd.
Using John 10:1–18, Steve and Janet reminded students that Jesus loves us, cares for us, and protects us, just as a shepherd cares for his sheep. We were also challenged to think about what it means to be good sheep. Are we listening for Jesus' voice and choosing to follow Him?
A special thank-you to Steve and Janet and our fourth graders for sharing God's Word in such a creative way! Be sure to check out the balloon creations displayed in our elementary classrooms and office!
Ask at Home: How can we recognize Jesus' voice and follow Him in the choices we make each day?
Donuts With Dad
We invite our LCS elementary dads and students (K–5th grade) to a sweet morning of fellowship on Friday, October 23 from 7:30-8:15 am. Come enjoy donuts and a special time with your child(ren) before the school day begins! We hope you can stay and enjoy our Elementary Praise Time from 8:00-8:15 am.
This event is designed for students and their dads, or one special guest if Dad can’t attend. We look forward to starting the day together, celebrating family, friendship, and God’s goodness.
If you have a PreK camper please plan to drop your camper off at their Camp at 7:15 am prior to heading down to the cafeteria.
Fall into Kindergarden
Know a family with a child who is 4 or 5 years old? Invite them to Fall Into Kindergarten at Lenawee Christian School! Families will have the opportunity to visit our Little Cougar classrooms, tour our campus, enjoy a fun fall activity, and indulge in delicious donuts and cider while discovering what makes LCS a special place to learn and grow.
As a reminder, LCS families can receive a $500 tuition credit when a family they refer enrolls! Share the invitation with a friend, neighbor, family member, or fellow church family and encourage them to join us!
Chapel Update
In Secondary Chapel, we held our second PowerPlus Group session. Students and leaders began together in the cafeteria, where they worshipped and learned what it means to be rooted in thankfulness.
Our key verse was Psalm 9:1:
"I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds."
The message focused on three important truths:
- Grateful people remember God's faithfulness.
- Grateful people see God's goodness.
- Grateful people reflect God's character.
Following the message, students divided into their PowerPlus groups with their leaders for discussion, reflection, and prayer. These smaller groups provided an opportunity for students to explore the theme more deeply, share their thoughts, and encourage one another in their faith journey.
MiLEAP - Free Webinars
The MiLEAP Office of Higher Education is offering webinars for students and families as they explore postsecondary options. All sessions are free and open to the public. Please see additional information in the link below.
Secondary Community Service Day
Our annual Community Service Day is coming up on Monday, November 9, and we’re looking for meaningful ways for our students to serve! If you know an elderly relative, neighbor, or friend who could use help with outdoor cleanup, yard work, or light tasks around their home, please consider submitting their information. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to share the love and light of Christ through hands-on service.
Service locations must be within a 20-minute drive of LCS. Please submit addresses by Wednesday, November 4th using the Community Service Form linked below.
Questions? Please contact Mrs. Raymond at jraymond@lenawee.org or (517) 438-8835.
