I hope everyone enjoyed Spring Break—it truly was a beautiful week. That time to rest and reset is so important as we prepare for the final stretch of the school year.

It’s hard to believe we are already here, with just two months remaining. These are some of the busiest weeks of the year. As the weather warms up, it’s natural for students to feel more anxious for summer and want to spend more time outside. During this time, maintaining routines and staying focused becomes especially important.

We ask for your support in helping your student stay consistent with attendance and daily routines. Regular attendance is critical, as missing too much school can put students at risk of not receiving credit for their classes. Every day matters, and staying engaged now will set students up for a strong finish.

It is also important to regularly check your student’s grades and progress. Staying informed allows you to support them, address any concerns early, and encourage them to finish the year strong.

We are also beginning the process of pre-registration for next year and completing our year-end ISAT testing. Please be sure to check our social media and newsletter regularly to stay up to date on important dates, events, and activities.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are looking forward to a successful end to the school year!

ISAT Testing Information

We are beginning ISAT testing and are excited for our students to show the growth they’ve made this year. This is an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and progress.

Attendance and punctuality are especially important on testing days. Arriving on time helps students avoid make-up sessions and ensures they can test in a calm, focused environment. Please also make sure your student brings their laptop fully charged each day of testing.

Testing Dates:

  • 8th Grade Science: April 7 at 7:50 AM
  • ELA (All Grades): April 21–23
  • Math (All Grades): April 28–29

To help your student do their best, we encourage:

  • A good night’s sleep before each testing day
  • A healthy breakfast
  • Arriving at school on time and ready to go
  • Encouragement and a positive mindset

We are proud of the hard work our students have put in this year and look forward to celebrating their success!

Every Minute Counts at West Minico Every Minute Counts at West Minico

At West Minico, we know that daily attendance plays a critical role in student success. Each day in the classroom builds important skills in reading, math, and social development that are difficult to replace when missed.

Even a few absences can add up quickly, creating gaps in learning and making it harder for students to stay confident and connected. Being present each day helps students stay on track academically, build positive relationships, and fully engage in their school experience.

We appreciate your partnership in making attendance a priority. Establishing routines, scheduling appointments outside of school hours when possible, and encouraging your student to be at school every day makes a meaningful difference.

Thank you for supporting your child and helping us ensure that every minute truly counts at West Minico.
