October 30, 2026

Dear Families,

Our school was buzzing with energy on Friday as students participated in Halloween festivities. It was wonderful to see their creativity, enthusiasm, and school spirit on display. Thank you to everyone who helped make the celebration fun, positive, and appropriate for our school community.

As we look ahead to November, we are preparing for our NEASC Decennial Visit. During this visit, the NEASC team will learn about the tremendous work our school community has accomplished over the past two years. Their review will highlight important areas such as student engagement, social-emotional health, and how our Vision of a Graduate is reflected in the experiences we provide for students.

Following the NEASC visit, we will head into one of the most anticipated weeks of our school year—Spirit Week! This is always a special opportunity for students and staff to come together, celebrate our community, and show their Pentucket pride. Stay tuned for more information about the week’s activities.

Finally, thank you to everyone who participated in our Pie Fundraiser. We greatly appreciate your support! Our top-selling students will earn the opportunity to deliver a pie in the face to some of our daring teachers. It promises to be a memorable—and messy—celebration!

Thank you for continuing to help make our school a place filled with pride, connection, and community.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Pentucket XC teams

The Pentucket XC teams participated in the Hoka Postal Nationals. Each runner raced a 2 mile time and the results were sent to Hoka to be compared to other schools across Massachusetts and the United States. This year, the team ran a "twilight" version of the race - in the evening with the track decorated in lights.

Some Friendly Reminders from the Main Office

Below are procedures that were previously communicated in recent SMORE newsletters. We understand these procedures may sometimes be inconvenient, but they are put in place to help ensure the safety of our students and staff while minimizing disruptions to classroom instruction.

Forgotten Items: Except for medical reasons, forgotten items may not be dropped off during the school day. Please ensure students arrive at school prepared with all necessary items, including homework, school projects, laptops, sports equipment, lunches, and water bottles.

Valid ID Upon Entering the Building: All visitors, including those attending scheduled meetings, must present a valid photo ID upon entering the building. This is required for our visitor check-in process.

Dismissals: Please enter dismissal requests in Infinite Campus at least one day in advance whenever possible. Same-day requests disrupt the school day, but if necessary, please submit them as early as possible.

Your Child's Illness: If your child is sick and does not need a doctor’s visit, please contact the school nurse directly, as she is the only one who can determine whether the absence can be excused for medical reasons.

Tardiness and Detention: For every five accumulated tardies, students will be assigned a detention. Detention is held T,W, & Th. from 2:15–3:00 pm

Great FUN Job!

Looking for a job where no two days are exactly the same? Join Pentucket Middle-High School as a substitute teacher!

Our substitute teachers are essential members of the team. They keep learning moving, provide students with a positive and structured classroom experience, and help our school run smoothly when a teacher is absent. One day you might explore history, the next you could supervise a science activity—and by Friday, you may know more about middle-school slang than you ever expected!

Pay $140/day

Community Service Opportunites Community Service Opportunites

1). The Hilldale Cemetery: Volunteers are needed to aid in the cleanup of the cemetery to ready it for the Wreaths Across America Program in December. The cleanup is medium to heavy work, clearing away summer growth so that the wreaths can be placed in December. If you are up for a challenge, love the outdoors, and exercise, this is your type of community service.

Your contact person is Tammy Dobrosielski, and she can be reached through email at tdobrosielski@prsd.org

Please consider volunteering for this worthy cause.

If you are interested in further information about the cemetery and its connection to Wreaths Across America, you can go to www.hilldalewreaths.com
