Happy School Principal’s Day to our incredible leader, Mrs. Lindsay Lennon!
Today we celebrated and thanked our amazing principal for her unwavering dedication, leadership, and care for our students, staff, and school community. Her passion for education, commitment to excellence, and support for every student make a lasting difference every day at Ten Oaks Middle. Our Kindness Club took the time to make this special poster for her!
We appreciate all that you do — not just today, but all year long!
Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now available for new and returning students!
Visit www.horrycountyschools.net/registration for more information and links for new student registration.
Congratulations
Congratulations to our TOMS Staff Member of the Week Mrs. Veronica Scully! She was nominated by Mr. Anthony Luscavage.
Mrs. Scully is a Special Education teacher at TOMS and this is her third year with us!
My favorite memory of middle school -- I attended a K-8 school so I never had the traditional "middle school experience". My favorite memories of school involved reading time. I love to read books. I also loved recess!
My advice to my Middle School self would be...that it gets easier. Just hang in there, do your best, be nice, don't be so hard on yourself, ask questions when you don't understand something and things will work out like they are supposed to.
Congratulations to our HCS Rookie Teacher of the Year, Ms. Macie Phillips!
Tonight, Macie was honored at the HCS Rookie Teacher of the Year festivities. We couldn’t be more proud of her hard work and dedication! Mrs. Lennon was thrilled to celebrate this special achievement with her.
Here's to many more years of inspiring and shaping young minds, Macie!

Happy National School Lunch Hero Day!
Today, we proudly celebrate our incredible TOMS Cafeteria Staff—the everyday heroes who nourish our students with care, love, and dedication.
A huge THANK YOU to:
Ms. Margie, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Linda, Mrs. Nancy, Mrs. Jenny, Mrs. Anita, Mrs. Tetyana, Ms. Mary, and Mr. David
Your hard work, warm smiles, and commitment to keeping our students healthy and well-fed do not go unnoticed.
And an extra round of applause for achieving a 100% Sanitation Assessment Score—what an amazing accomplishment!
Success, Nothing Less!

She currently serves as a 5th grade teacher at our feeder school, River Oaks Elementary, where she continues to make a positive impact every day.
We’re proud to celebrate her incredible journey towards the accomplishment of earning her Master’s in Educational Leadership from CCU!
Mrs. DeRitis—your hard work and leadership are an inspiration! We will miss you at TOMS!
Congratulations to 8th Grader Aiden Nichols!
Aiden was called up to the CFHS Boys JV Golf Team yesterday to compete in the HCS County Golf Tournament—and he did an outstanding job! He played exceptionally well and remained in the top ten for most of the event.
We’re incredibly proud of his sportsmanship and the effort he gave to support the team. We can’t wait to see where this talented young athlete goes in the future!

Mr. Clifford Jones, the new Superintendent of Horry County Schools, has scheduled “Coffee with Cliff” events for the remainder of the school year. As a newcomer to Horry County Schools, Mr. Jones wants to use these events to listen to the community's ideas and concerns and to share news about the district with community members. These events are just one of many ways Mr. Jones hopes to connect with the community and listen, share, and learn to make Horry County Schools an even better district. #HCSBestDaysAhead
