Guidance Lessons for February and March
February:
K-3rd grades will be learning about kindness and empathy. Modeling and learning how to be kind and empathetic have far-reaching positive effects in the development of every student. Kindness and empathy strengthens relationships, improves mental health, and creates supportive and positive communities.
4th-6th grades will be learning about the effects of nicotine and vaping. We will also have discussions on what it means to be a good friend which encompass kindness and empathy.
March:
K-3rd grades will be learning about understanding and accepting differences in others. We will discuss how important it is to treat others the way we want to be treated.
4th-6th grades will be learning about the effects of over the counter and prescription medication. We will also go over accepting differences in others.
6th Grade Information
We are grateful to the West Junior High Counselors who came to our campus to talk with our 6th graders about the required core classes, as well as the elective classes for 7th grade!
We had such a good time visiting West Junior High on January 22nd! We were able to walk the halls of West Junior High to get familiar with the campus. Our visit helped the 6th grade students understand what to expect as they become Junior High students next year.
We are busy helping all 6th grade students choose their courses for 7th grade. Course cards will be sent home and will need to be returned as soon as possible. We will then enter all courses into Focus. Once the courses are entered into Focus, a final course card verification document will be sent home in March to finalize all courses for next year. Please be sure to sign each document that is sent home and have your child return it back to us as soon as possible.
